Resa Energy Joint Stock Company: Recycling plastic waste

In Khanh Hoa province, Resa Energy Joint Stock Company has researched recycling plastic waste using zero-waste technology, which has initial effectiveness in recycling plastic waste and protecting the environment.

Coming to the plastic recycling workshop of Resa Energy Joint Stock Company in Vinh Thanh Commune (Nha Trang City), we were surprised by the very clean working environment related to waste. The processing workshop is spacious and airy with a crushing system and a plastic pyrolysis line that does not cause pollution. All kinds of ground plastic waste are put into clean bags and neatly arranged. Workers are busy molding and polishing stone tables and chairs from plastic waste.

Mr. Nguyen Van Xuan - Director of Resa Energy Joint Stock Company said that in the past, seeing plastic waste everywhere, causing environmental pollution, made him very worried. Having done many scientific research projects while working at Power Transmission Company 3, he sought to find a solution to this problem. Applying science and technology, the company has initially operated 2 plastic recycling methods that can both bring business efficiency and ensure environmental safety, which are pyrolysis and concretization of plastic waste (also known as plastic confinement).

With the method of pyrolysis of plastic waste, the company has now built a pilot scale oil extraction line; initially producing pyrolysis oil from plastic waste. This type of oil has properties similar to diesel and kerosene, and can be used as fuel for furnaces and diesel engines. For the method of confining plastic, the processing process is simpler. Plastic waste is collected, preliminarily cleaned, and put into a shredder to be crushed into plastic scraps. Mix the plastic scraps in the appropriate ratio into cement, additives, fiber reinforcement, and water to form a mortar mixture, pour into the mold and wait for it to harden, cool, and complete the product. The technological line only invests in a system of plastic shredders, mixers, grinders, etc. In particular, this method does not pollute the environment and can recycle all types of plastic waste. Currently, the company's workshop has produced many products, such as: Tables, stone chairs, shelves, ornamental pots, public stone chairs, paving bricks, imitation stone concrete panels for stairs, kitchen tables, decorative panels... In addition, plastic waste concrete can be used to make low-load roads, walkways, median strips, intra-field canals... Recently, the company cooperated with the Provincial Youth Union to install 30 stone chairs at the Coastal Park on the occasion of the Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Sea Festival 2023. Stone chairs are made from cement, sea sand, water, fibers, additives and plastic waste.

Mr. Nguyen Van Xuan said that the company is planning to cooperate in receiving plastic waste from households, apartments, agencies, and businesses; placing orders for environmental workers and scrap collectors; testing the Plastic Waste Bank model (following Indonesia's very successful plastic waste treatment model)... At the same time, focusing on producing and marketing stone benches from plastic waste; cooperating with the hotel system to receive plastic waste, exchange recycled products; coordinating with the Youth Union and Women's Union to periodically organize demonstration activities of plastic recycling methods, combining with promoting recycled products to widely propagate environmental protection awareness to people...
