Not a famous name, but the mountain pass connecting Quang Ngai - Kon Tum still has its own position in the hearts of travel enthusiasts.

When talking about majestic and beautiful mountain passes in Vietnam, famous mountain passes such as the four great mountain passes in the North and Hai Van Pass connecting Hue and Da Nang are often mentioned. However, there is a mountain pass connecting Kon Tum and Quang Ngai, with an unfamiliar name but has become famous for its beautiful scenery.

The pass is called Vi O Lac, about 50km long, located on Highway 24, from Thach Tru intersection in Duc Lan commune, Mo Duc district, Quang Ngai province to Kon Tum city.

Vi O Lac Pass winds through mountains and valleys with the peak reaching over 1,300m above sea level. Running along the winding pass, the higher you go, the more the scenery changes, opening up many charming perspectives.

One side of the steep mountainside is adorned with countless yellow, red, and purple wildflowers, the other side is a vast abyss with a green valley interspersed with canals and ditches shining in the golden sunlight; in the distance, houses appear and disappear behind the hazy smoke from the kitchen.

A little further away, there are rolling green mountains mixed with hazy clouds, below is the gentle Re River, which further accentuates the majesty of Vi O Lac Pass. The wild but open and fresh scenery when crossing the mountains and forests brings an experience that is both pleasing to the eyes and relaxing to the soul.

After the winding mountain passes and challenging cliffs, standing on the top of the pass in the early morning, if lucky, visitors can admire the scene of clouds descending and covering one side of the cliff.

On days with favorable weather, the charming Vi O Lac pass is also covered with a sea of white, floating clouds. Not in Y Ty or Ta Xua, visitors can also admire the wonderful sea of clouds right here. If on sunny days, the sky is clear and blue, visitors can enjoy the beautiful scenery at the foot of the cliff, then the moment when the sky is cloudy is another impressive natural picture that Vi O Lac "owns".

The best time to see the sea of clouds on Vi O Lac Pass is from 6 to 8 am. So if you want to hunt for clouds, don't forget to monitor the weather and time your trip accurately to make the most of your trip.
