Tomorrow, January 17th, at Can Tho Stadium, the final match of the Southwest qualifying round of the 3rd Vietnam Youth and Student Football Tournament – 2025 THACO Cup (TNSV THACO Cup 2025) will take place between the teams from Nam Can Tho University and Tra Vinh University.

Throughout their journey to the final, Tra Vinh University demonstrated overwhelming strength. In the group stage, the team secured all 9 points in 3 matches, scoring 14 goals and conceding only 1. In the semi-final, they defeated Cuu Long University 1-0.
Tra Vinh University is the reigning champion of the 2024 Southwest Region qualifying round. The upcoming final match holds great significance for the coaching staff and players. A victory would secure their regional title, meaning they would qualify for the national finals for the second consecutive time. At the start of the group stage, they lost 1-2 to Can Tho University. The next match ended in a 0-0 draw with Dong Thap University. In the third match, they won 2-0 against Cuu Long University.
In the semi-finals, the boys from Nam Can Tho University won convincingly 5-1 against Vinh Long University of Technology and Education. After being eliminated early in the group stage of the 2024 season, Nam Can Tho University is truly a "dark horse" in the Southwest region qualifiers of the THACO TNSV Cup 2025 football tournament. Through 4 matches, Tu Chi Minh scored 4 goals; Cao Lu Minh Thuan scored 6 goals, currently leading the scoring charts in the tournament.

Schedule for the Southwest Region Qualifiers
The qualifying round of the 3rd Vietnam Youth and Student Football Tournament - 2025, sponsored by THACO, will feature 66 teams divided into 6 groups based on geographical regions, from December 28, 2024 to January 18, 2025. Specifically, the Northern region will compete from December 30, 2024 to January 10, 2025 at the Water Resources University stadium; the Central Coastal region (January 6-12, 2025 at the Military Region 5 stadium in Da Nang); the South Central and Central Highlands region (January 10-18, 2025 at the Nha Trang University stadium); and the Southeast region (January 4-12, 2025 at the Bau Thanh Stadium, Ba Ria - Vung Tau). The Southwestern region (January 8-17, 2025 at Can Tho Stadium) and the Ho Chi Minh City region (December 28, 2024 - January 15, 2025 at Ton Duc Thang University Stadium) will select 11 teams to compete in the final round of the tournament, along with the host team Ton Duc Thang University, from March 1-16, 2025.
