Speaking at the event, Dr. Nguyen Van Quang, Rector of Nam Can Tho University, said that for many days, the images of ruined houses, fields submerged in water, and the anxious eyes of people in the flood-stricken areas have left us all deeply concerned. Natural disasters have taken away much property, and even the lives of people.

Understanding the losses and damage caused, the faculty, staff, and students of Nam Can Tho University have collectively donated and supported those affected by the storms and floods to overcome difficulties. This is a sincere act of sharing from the South to the North, demonstrating the social responsibility and compassion of the Nam Can Tho University community towards their compatriots in the country.

Upon receiving the aforementioned amount, Mr. Le Nguyen Sinh Nhut, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City, thanked the staff of Nam Can Tho University for donating a portion of their income and savings to help those in need due to natural disasters. This gesture is highly commendable, contributing to the beautification of the spirit of solidarity, compassion, and humanity of the Vietnamese people.

The Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City added that since the fundraising campaign was launched (October 3rd), Can Tho has received more than 16 billion VND from generous donors to help people affected by storms and floods. Recently, a delegation from Can Tho City also organized a trip to donate gifts and money to people in five provinces including Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho, Tuyen Quang, Lao Cai , and Ninh Binh.
