74th Meeting of the ASEAN Integration Initiative Task Force

On August 28-29, Ambassador Ton Thi Ngoc Huong, Head of the Vietnamese Delegation to ASEAN, led the Vietnamese delegation to the 74th meeting of the ASEAN Integration Initiative (IAI) Task Force and the 14th Consultative Meeting of the IAI Task Force with ASEAN partners at the ASEAN Secretariat headquarters in Jakarta, Indonesia.

These are regular meetings to review the progress of projects under the IAI framework, propose solutions to further improve the effectiveness of IAI work plans, and consult with partners supporting the IAI Initiative.

The 74th meeting of the IAI Task Force was attended by and featured reports from the IAI national focal points of Cambodia-Laos-Myanmar-Vietnam (CLMV).

Delegates acknowledged and highly appreciated the results of the implementation of projects under the IAI Work Plan Phase 4 (2021-2025). To date, 14 out of 24 action lines of the IAI Work Plan Phase 4 (2021-2025) have been implemented, reaching 66% across all five strategic areas: Food and Agriculture , Trade Facilitation, Small and Medium Enterprises, Education and Training, and Public Health. Currently, 91 projects have been approved and are being implemented with a total value of US$19.37 million.

At the 14th Consultative Meeting of the IAI Task Force with ASEAN partners, partner countries such as Australia, the United States, Japan, South Korea, China, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, the European Union (EU), India, Canada, etc., affirmed their continued support for ASEAN within the framework of the IAI, and contributed many ideas and practical experiences to more effectively implement the IAI Work Plan Phase 4.

Partner countries welcome the decision to add Timor Leste to the CLMV countries as beneficiaries of IAI cooperation.

The IAI Task Force welcomes and thanks partner countries for their contributions to IAI projects over the past period, and calls on countries to continue making active contributions to the IAI Work Plan Phase 4 (2021-2025).
