Previously, Ms. NTKO (45 years old) was hospitalized in a state of fatigue, difficulty breathing, sweating, cold hands and feet, slow pulse of only 48 beats/minute and severe drop in blood pressure to 80/50 mmHg.

Doctors quickly determined that the patient was in cardiogenic shock due to acute myocardial infarction, severe arrhythmia complications, and third-degree atrioventricular block, an extremely dangerous condition in which the heart could stop beating at any time.

Faced with the critical situation, doctors activated emergency coronary intervention procedures, racing against time to reopen blood flow to the heart.

Coronary angiography results showed that the patient had a complete blockage of the right coronary artery, a vital blood vessel because the patient's heart has a right-sided dominant structure.

Immediately, the team proceeded to place a stent in the right coronary artery, completely restoring blood flow to the heart. After 15 minutes from the needle insertion to the end of the intervention, the patient's heart rate recovered to 80 beats/minute, blood pressure stabilized again, escaping the critical condition.

Doctors at Can Tho University Hospital warn that Ms. O's case is a reminder that myocardial infarction does not only occur in the elderly or those with underlying diseases, but can suddenly appear even in healthy people.
