On July 8, the Food Safety Management Board of Da Nang City said it had sent a dispatch to the People's Committee of Hoa Xuan Ward requesting to collect evidence and clarify information provided by people about the red color of vermicelli.
Before that, at around 9:00 a.m. on July 6, Ms. VTL's family (Hoa Xuan ward, Da Nang city) went to Hoa Chau market to buy 15,000 VND worth of fresh noodles for the whole family to eat.
The family then saved some of the noodles for their son, and by 9pm the same day the noodles had turned pink. By the next morning the noodles had turned a darker pink. When the noodles were dipped in boiling water, the water also turned pink. The noodles were placed in a plastic basket and placed in a cool, dry place.

Upon receiving the information, on the afternoon of July 7, the authorities began working and taking samples for testing.
The Food Safety Management Board of Da Nang City has sent a document requesting the People's Committee of Hoa Xuan Ward to base on the decentralization of management in the field of food safety for Hoa Chau market under the management authority of the People's Committee of Hoa Xuan Ward to inspect and verify the case of vermicelli changing color as reported by the people.
