Da Nang rewards students and teachers for achievements at the UPU International Letter Writing Competition

DNO - On October 28, the People's Committee of Da Nang City held a ceremony to honor and reward teachers and students who achieved achievements at the 54th UPU International Letter Writing Competition in 2025.

Accordingly, Pham Doan Minh Khue, a student of class 10C and teacher Do Thi Cam Nhung, instructor, Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, were awarded.

Minh Khue's letter won the Second Prize at the 54th UPU International Letter Writing Competition in 2025 with the theme "Imagine you are an ocean. Write a letter to someone explaining why and how they should take good care of you and protect you", which was honored by the Universal Postal Union (UPU) at the 28th UPU Congress in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on September 19, 2025.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan congratulated the achievements of the education sector, Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, teacher Do Thi Cam Nhung (instructor) and student Pham Doan Minh Khue.

This is a proud result, not only contributing to affirming the position of Da Nang in particular and Vietnam in general on the world knowledge map but also spreading the love and responsibility of today's young generation towards the ocean.

The Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee hopes that in the coming time, the education sector will continue to contribute ideas and advise the city to further develop.

Director of the Department of Education and Training Le Thi Bich Thuan said that in the 2024-2025 school year, in addition to maintaining and improving the quality of comprehensive education, many students in the city achieved excellent results in international exams.

Typically won 1 second prize at the International Science and Technology Competition; 3 Gold medals at the International Mathematics Olympiad; 1 Bronze medal at the European Physics Olympiad; 1 Gold medal and 1 Bronze medal at the International Artificial Intelligence Olympiad.

These results not only contribute to affirming the position of Da Nang education in the national education system but also demonstrate the comprehensive and sustainable development of the industry and the investment and deep concern of the city's leaders for the cause of human development.

The UPU International Letter Writing Competition is an educational playground with profound humanitarian significance, helping students practice language skills, stimulate creativity, nurture love for humanity and the desire to contribute to the community.

The achievements that Da Nang students achieved at the 54th UPU International Letter Writing Competition demonstrate the intelligence, courage, and international aspirations of Da Nang's young generation.

In the coming time, the Department of Education and Training will continue to direct educational institutions to proactively discover and nurture students with writing talents; at the same time, expand cooperation and exchange between Da Nang students and students from other localities across the country to help students practice writing skills, expression, creative thinking and international communication skills.

At the commendation ceremony, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan awarded a certificate of merit from the City People's Committee to Pham Doan Minh Khue and instructor Do Thi Cam Nhung.

On this occasion, Da Nang International Terminal Investment and Operation Joint Stock Company awarded a prize worth 25 million VND to Pham Doan Minh Khue.
