Da Nang rewards students and teachers for achievements at the UPU International Letter Writing Competition

DNO - On October 28th, the Da Nang City People's Committee held a ceremony to commend and reward teachers and students who achieved success in the 54th UPU International Letter Writing Competition 2025.

The event was attended by Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan.

Accordingly, awards were presented to Pham Doan Minh Khue, a student in class 10C, and her supervising teacher, Do Thi Cam Nhung, from Le Quy Don Specialized High School.

Minh Khue's letter won second prize at the 54th UPU International Letter Writing Competition 2025 with the theme "Imagine you are the ocean. Write a letter to someone explaining why and how they should take good care of and protect you," and was honored by the Universal Postal Union (UPU) at the 28th UPU Congress in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on September 19, 2025.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan congratulated the achievements of the education sector, Le Quy Don Specialized High School, teacher Do Thi Cam Nhung (supervisor), and student Pham Doan Minh Khue.

This is a proud achievement, not only contributing to affirming the position of Da Nang in particular and Vietnam in general on the world knowledge map, but also spreading the love and responsibility of today's young generation towards the ocean.

The Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee expressed his hope that in the future, the education sector will continue to contribute ideas and advise the city on further development.

The school, teachers, and families will continue to provide support to help students study, develop their abilities, and achieve even better results and accomplishments.

According to Le Thi Bich Thuan, Director of the Department of Education and Training, in the 2024-2025 school year, in addition to maintaining and improving the overall quality of education, many students from the city will achieve outstanding results in international competitions.

Notable achievements include one second prize at the International Science and Engineering Fair; three gold medals at the International Mathematical Olympiad; one bronze medal at the European Physics Olympiad; and one gold and one bronze medal at the International Artificial Intelligence Olympiad.

These achievements not only contribute to affirming the position of Da Nang's education in the national education system but also demonstrate the comprehensive and sustainable development of the sector, along with the deep investment and concern of the city's leaders at all levels for the cause of nurturing future generations.

The UPU International Letter Writing Competition is an educational platform with profound humanistic significance, helping students hone their language skills, unleash their creativity, nurture love for humanity, and foster a desire to contribute to the community.

The achievements of Da Nang students at the 54th UPU International Letter Writing Competition demonstrate the intelligence, courage, and aspiration for international recognition of Da Nang's young generation.

In the coming period, the Department of Education and Training will continue to direct educational institutions to proactively identify and nurture students with writing talent; at the same time, expand cooperation and exchange between students in Da Nang and students in other localities across the country to help students develop writing skills, expression, creative thinking, and international communication abilities.

At the awards ceremony, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan presented the City People's Committee's commendation certificate to Pham Doan Minh Khue and her supervising teacher Do Thi Cam Nhung.

On this occasion, Da Nang International Airport Terminal Investment and Exploitation Joint Stock Company awarded a prize worth 25 million VND to Pham Doan Minh Khue.
