On the evening of October 21, at the Bach Hoa Xanh and WinMart chains on Au Co and Pham Nhu Xuong streets (Hoa Khanh ward and Lien Chieu ward, Da Nang city), the number of customers coming to buy goods increased dramatically.
Right after work, hundreds of people wearing raincoats and helmets rushed to grocery stores to buy vegetables, dried goods, meat, eggs and other essential items to prepare for storm No. 12 Fengshen.

Many said they had prepared food for 3–5 days in case the storm caused power outages, flooding, or transportation disruptions. Vegetables were the most sought-after items, along with instant noodles, drinking water, milk, dry food, and canned goods.
At some Bach Hoa Xanh stores, the vegetable, meat, fish and frozen food shelves were almost empty. Staff had to constantly replenish goods and assist with payments. Similarly, WinMart supermarkets recorded scenes of people lining up with shopping carts full of instant noodles, milk, bottled water and candy.

Since the afternoon of October 21, chain stores and mini supermarkets in Da Nang have been crowded with customers.
Tran Anh Duc, a student at Da Nang University of Technology, said he was quite surprised when the vegetable and meat stalls were almost sold out. He visited two stores but still could not buy any vegetables.
Mr. Luu Van Hung, Manager of Bach Hoa Xanh in Hoa Khanh, informed that the number of customers increased by about 200%, in which vegetables and fruits sold out the earliest.

Vegetables, fruits, instant noodles, bread, drinks... are chosen by people to buy and store.
At traditional markets such as Hoa Khanh and Thanh Vinh, the number of buyers has also increased, and many vegetable stalls have run out of stock early.
On the same afternoon, the People's Committee of Da Nang City issued an urgent dispatch requesting the evacuation of people from dangerous areas before 5 p.m. on October 22; at the same time, ensuring enough food and necessities and mobilizing people to reserve food for at least 3 days to cope with storm No. 12 and extremely heavy rain, forecasted to be over 900mm.
