Dien Bien TV - On the morning of April 7, the Departmentof Education and Training organized a folk dance and street dance performance program for students of Dien Bien province in 2024. This is one of the practical activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory, and at the same time is a premise for the provincial Education sector to develop the folk dance movement in schools.
The 2024 folk dance and street dance performance program for students of Dien Bien province will take place simultaneously at 4 locations: 7-5 Square; Dien Bien Phu Victory Monument Ceremony Ground; Dien Bien Phu Victory Monument Ground (top of D1 hill); Dien Bien Phu City Square.
The performance attracted the participation of over 2,200 students from 11 units, including 2 departments of education and training, 9 high schools and Dien Bien Pedagogical College. The performances were performed live and alternately.
According to Mr. Cu Huy Hoan, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Dien Bien province, said: “This is one of the activities in the series of activities of the Education and Training sector of Dien Bien province to compete to achieve achievements to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory and Dien Bien National Tourism Year 2024; to concretize the plan of the Provincial People's Committee on implementing the project to preserve and promote the values of folk songs, folk dances, and folk music of ethnic minorities associated with tourism development in the period of 2022 - 2030; attracting a large number of students to participate, becoming a regular activity, thereby contributing to introducing and promoting the image of local cultural heritage to domestic and international friends."
Over 30 folk dances and street dances performed at the program are the winning entries in the first Folk Dance and Street Dance Competition for students in Dien Bien province in 2024.
In traditional costumes of ethnic groups in the province, students confidently strode to the music. On the background music imbued with national identity, Thai Xoè dances and folk dances were performed by the students gracefully, rhythmically and in unison.
“Coming to today’s performance, I feel very happy and honored to be able to promote the unique features of our nation to everyone, especially the Thai Xoè dances that carry national identity.” - Tong Thi Huong Giang, class 11B1, Dien Bien province’s Ethnic Boarding School, shared.
The program of organizing folk dance and street dance performances by students of Dien Bien province in 2024 is a practical activity to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory and National Tourism Year - Dien Bien 2024. This will also be a premise for the Education and Training sector of Dien Bien province to continue developing the folk dance movement in schools, at the same time, implementing the province's cultural preservation plan and creating momentum for the development of tourism and cultural education in the locality./.
