People's Council delegates and leaders of Da Nang with low trust may resign

On September 21, at a special session of the Da Nang City People's Council, information was provided about the plan to vote on confidence for people holding positions elected by the City People's Council and comments were given on a number of submissions.

Specifically, the Da Nang City People's Council will organize a vote of confidence at the regular meeting at the end of 2023 for 26 people including: Chairman of the People's Council, Vice Chairman of the People's Council, Heads of Committees of the City People's Council; Chairman of the People's Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee, Member of the City People's Committee. There are 5 people who have announced their resignation pending retirement or were elected or appointed in the year of the vote of confidence will not be voted of confidence this time.

The results of the vote of confidence must be made public in the mass media for voters and people to know, no later than 3 days from the date the Resolution confirming the results of the vote of confidence is passed.

The results of the vote of confidence are used to evaluate cadres, as a basis for planning, mobilizing, appointing, recommending candidates, dismissing and implementing regimes and policies for cadres.

A person who is voted on for a confidence vote and has more than half to less than two-thirds of the total votes for “low confidence” can resign. In case of not resigning, the Standing Committee of the City People’s Council shall submit to the City People’s Council a vote of confidence at that session or the nearest session. In case a person has been voted on for confidence at the same time for multiple positions, the vote of confidence shall be conducted once for those positions.
