Allow players to play in the qualifying round for other teams to participate in the finals

To help the team concentrate its forces well is one of the new features of the regulations of the U.19 football tournament this year. VFF allows the teams that have reached the final round to add players who have played in the qualifying round from other teams. As long as the additional players ensure compliance with the regulations of non-professional football in Vietnam.

Specifically, the player must comply with the criteria of only playing for a maximum of 2 teams out of 3 teams registered to compete in the season, and will be allowed to be added. If he has already played for 2 teams, he will not be allowed to add to the 3rd team.

Because the U.19 finals are the opening tournament of 2024, after which there will be second-class, third-class and U.21 tournaments, some teams that want to strengthen their squads have considered selecting players from other clubs to register. This move is to strengthen the team and avoid future violations.

U.19 HAGL players will be noticed

That is a detail that many teams pay attention to because the lesson of the two teams Song Lam Nghe An and Gia Dinh in the final round of the U.21 tournament in 2022 in Nghe An and Ha Tinh is still there. Due to lack of strict inspection, these teams sent players who had played for two other teams to the field. Both teams were whistled by the VFF and had to stop playing, which was very regrettable.

Therefore, a football team only allows another team to strengthen its players when it ensures that the added player only plays for its own team and the loaning team, and not for any other third party to avoid any future problems and unnecessary legal troubles.

Returning to the expansion of allowing the addition of players who have played in the qualifying round for other teams to play in the final round of the U.19 tournament, in fact, VFF has been flexible for the past 2-3 years. Previously, this was prohibited to avoid the phenomenon of the host not playing in the qualifying round gathering good players for the final round. But now that the host is allowed to play in the qualifying round, the strength of all teams has been revealed. The teams also grasped the excellent faces to call for additional players from other teams, so they had plans early. Moreover, allowing VFF also means expanding the selection range for scouts, experts have a basis to monitor and fully evaluate the forces called into the national youth teams and the Vietnam Olympic team.

U.19 Hue with many bright faces

Thus, the teams participating in the final round can all add more strength, not only increasing the ability to compete for rankings in the U.19 championship but also helping VFF consider having more talents from many other teams, "panning for gold" to concentrate on the two national U.19 and U.16 teams. According to VFF, currently half of the teams have added players for the U.19 final round.

Coach Hoang Anh Tuan will choose the U.19 and U.16 teams.

The U.19 tournament regulations stipulate that players from 16 years old (born from 2008) to U.19 (born in 2005) are allowed to participate in the tournament, so almost all the best forces to concentrate on the two national U.19 and U.16 teams will appear in the final round of the U.19 tournament. Coach Hoang Anh Tuan, who will be responsible for leading these teams, also expressed his excitement. He and the coaching staff will be in Binh Duong from February 21 to March 5 to "headhunt" for the two national youth teams.

Many outstanding faces of the future of national football will gather in Binh Duong next week.

If there is a little regret, it is only Da Nang, the team that won third place in both the U.19 and U.21 tournaments in 2023, who is absent. The rest from PVF, Hanoi, The Cong Viettel, Thanh Hoa, SLNA, HAGL, Binh Duong, Hue, Dong Thap, Khanh Hoa, including Binh Phuoc, who entered the U.19 quarterfinals in 2023, are all present in the U.19 finals. My colleagues and I will closely follow the U.19 finals with the hope of selecting the most core force to prepare for the two national U.19 and U.16 teams."

Faces of the U.19 group such as Nguyen Cong Phuong, Doan The Phong, Tieu Trung Hieu (The Cong Viettel), Le Dinh Long Vu, Pham Nguyen Quoc Trung, Nguyen Mai Hoang, Phung Van Nam, Nguyen Van Linh (SLNA), Nguyen Le Phat, Phung Quang Tu, Dao Quang Anh (PVF), Hoang Minh Tien, Moi Se, Dinh Quang Kiet (HAGL), Nguyen Canh Tai, Le Tri Phong (Hanoi), Le Huynh Trieu (Dong Thap), Vi Dinh Thuong (Hue), Nguyen Ngoc Cuong, Trinh Van San (Thanh Hoa) or U.16 groups such as Le Thang Long, Trinh Nam Khanh, Hoang Trong Duy Khang (PVF), Vo Quoc Trung (Hue), Nguyen Thien Phu (Hanoi), promise to create an exciting competition.
