According to the authorities, the initial cause of the above mentioned tourist boat sinking was due to a storm. At the time of the sinking, there were 48 passengers and 5 crew members on board. Upon receiving the news of the shipwreck, the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province established a search and rescue command center and immediately deployed search and rescue operations. The Quang Ninh Provincial Border Guard directed the Hon Gai Port Border Guard Station to coordinate with other forces to quickly approach the scene for search and rescue.


Quang Ninh Provincial Border Guard deployed 5 boat crews, 35 officers and soldiers led by Colonel Tran Van Thanh, Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff to search and rescue at the scene. By about 6 p.m. the same day, the authorities had rescued 10 people and recovered 3 bodies. Currently, the authorities are continuing to race to rescue at sea.


Currently, Quang Ninh provincial leaders have directly arrived at the scene to direct the rescue work, ensuring the safety of tourists and crew members. Up to this point, the rescue work is being urgently deployed, the highest priority is to ensure the safety of the lives of people and tourists.
