(QNO) - This afternoon, May 26, the Provincial Military Party Committee held a mid-term review conference on the implementation of the Resolution of the 13th Provincial Military Party Congress (term 2020 - 2025). Comrade Phan Viet Cuong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Secretary of the Provincial Military Party Committee chaired the conference.
Attending the conference were Lieutenant General Trinh Dinh Thach - Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of Military Region 5; Major General Vo Van Hung - Head of the Political Department of Military Region 5; and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Tri Thanh.
During the past half term, despite being greatly affected by the world situation, especially the COVID-19 pandemic, with a large workload and changes in the cadres at all levels, the Provincial Military Party Committee has focused on leading the implementation and completion of the targets and tasks set out in the Resolution of the Provincial Military Party Congress.
In addition to advising on the issuance and implementation of 7 projects to ensure national defense, the Provincial Military Party Committee advised on organizing provincial defense zone drills combined with civil defense drills, completing defense zone drills in 18 districts, towns, and cities and defensive combat drills in 214 communes, wards, and towns.
At the same time, strictly appraise 100% of socio-economic development projects on national defense; complete the settlement of 50% of overlapping land points; 89% of national defense land points are granted land use right certificates. Along with training in national defense and security knowledge for students, the work of building the militia and self-defense force ensures quantity and quality, the rate of party members in the militia and self-defense force reaches 32.55%.
Every year, 93.1% of agencies and units meet the comprehensive standard of "exemplary, typical" strength; 100% of agencies and units are absolutely politically secure. In addition, 100% of cadres are trained according to their ranks; no soldiers violate the law; no incidents of state secrets, military secrets and important incidents occur...
Based on the organization of defense diplomacy activities, the Provincial Military Party Committee, in coordination with relevant departments and agencies, conducted surveys and finalized the proposal for investment in the construction of a friendship project to assist the Military Command of Sekong Province (Laos).
Organized visits, gave gifts, examined and distributed medicine to 1,834 people in Ka Lum and Dac Chung districts (Se Kong province) with a budget of more than 600 million VND; organized the purchase of medical supplies and equipment to prevent the COVID-19 epidemic to support the Se Kong Provincial Military Command with a budget of 650 million VND.
Speaking at the conference, comrade Phan Viet Cuong - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Military Party Committee emphasized that since the beginning of the term, under the regular leadership and direction of superiors, the Provincial Military Party Committee has focused on leading staff work, comprehensively deploying all aspects of local defense and military work, contributing to maintaining political and social stability, strengthening the national defense and the national defense posture.
At the same time, focus on building a comprehensively strong, "exemplary, typical" agency and unit; thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the new policies of Military Region 5.
