Quang Bridge Dam is a 'regulating valve' for the To Lich River.

Recently, the To Lich River dike project at Quang Bridge (Thanh Liet Ward, Thanh Tri District, Hanoi) was officially put into operation, marking an important step forward in efforts to improve the environment and flow of the river, which has long been heavily polluted.

According to records, the rubber dam, the first project on the To Lich River, has been basically completed after more than half a year of construction. The project is considered a "regulating valve", holding and adjusting the river water level, especially in the dry season. When the water flow decreases, the dam will retain a part to maintain a minimum flow, limiting the drying of the riverbed. Thanks to that, water quality is improved, the flow is circulated better, contributing to reducing pollution.

The dam has a rubber bag structure connected to the foundation, which can adjust the water level by pumping or releasing air and water, with the advantages of low cost, fast construction, good resistance to subsidence and effective flood discharge. Previously, the construction unit also completed the collection of all 245 discharge gates on the To Lich River, leading wastewater to the Yen Xa Treatment Plant with a capacity of 200,000 - 230,000 m³/day and night for thorough treatment.

In particular, recently, water from West Lake has been added to To Lich River through a separate pipeline system. From now until September 20, the project of adding treated water from Yen Xa Plant will be completed, contributing to the "revival" of To Lich River - the symbol of Hanoi .
