CYE 2024 Startup Arena – a 'real-life' playground for young startups

The workshop "Dawn of a new cycle - Prosperity with SMEs" and the CYE 2024 Startup Arena officially took place on Tuesday, December 10 in Hanoi .

The event brought together more than 300 young leaders and experts from across industries. This is a special event to help young entrepreneurs broaden their horizons, access breakthrough business strategies, and create opportunities to connect with international investors.

The workshop brings together leading experts, opening up breakthrough solutions for small and medium enterprises.

The event, organized under the auspices of JCI Vietnam and JCI Hanoi, provides an opportunity not only for young entrepreneurs to connect, share and learn breakthrough business strategies, but also for talented teams to participate in the CYE 2024 startup competition - an international playground for young entrepreneurs with innovative, sustainable business models that have a positive impact on the community.

Workshop "Dawn of a new cycle - Prosperity with SMEs"

This year’s theme – “The Dawn of a New Cycle – Rising with SMEs” – focuses on providing practical solutions to help SMEs overcome the challenges of the new economic cycle. This is where young entrepreneurs can access breakthrough knowledge, seek investment opportunities and learn from leading experts.

Keynote speakers will include prominent names in the Vietnamese business community who are not only successful in business but also have made great contributions to the community and the national economy.

Mr. Pham Dinh Doan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Phu Thai Holdings Group, was one of the speakers at the Workshop.

In addition to practical knowledge, the Workshop has many shares from experienced speakers on the journey of building and developing sustainable businesses.

Mr. Pham Dinh Doan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Phu Thai Holdings Group, said: With more than 30 years of experience in the field of investment and business development, Mr. Doan will share the story of Phu Thai Holdings' development journey and valuable lessons from failure to success.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Giang, Co-founder of Leaders and Culture - NEWING, an expert in leadership and organizational culture, will bring strategies for developing leadership teams and building sustainable corporate culture.

Ms. Tran Dieu Hang, CEO and Co-founder of Start Up Wheel: Ms. Hang, with rich experience in supporting and developing startup projects, will share the secrets to help young businesses succeed in the context of international competition.

Moderator Ms. Tran Phuong Ngoc Thao, President of JCI Vietnam, Vice President of PNJ Board of Directors, Doctor of Economics from Harvard University will coordinate the discussion sessions, creating a space for direct interaction between speakers and the audience, helping participants draw valuable lessons from practical sharing.

Real combat with CYE Startup Arena

The CYE 2024 Startup Arena will be a place for creative teams to compete and introduce unique business models with sustainable development potential. Teams will not only be evaluated on their creativity but also have to demonstrate their ability to apply them in practice and create real value for the community.

The mission of CYE 2024 is to foster the spirit of innovation and help young businesses overcome challenges in the context of a rapidly changing global economy. More than just a competition, CYE 2024 is a playground for young entrepreneurs to connect, learn from experts, and seek investment opportunities for their innovative ideas.

The program not only focuses on the competitive rounds but also pays special attention to the mentoring and coaching rounds, where entrepreneurs will receive in-depth advice and feedback from industry experts to improve and enhance the competitiveness of their business models.

Mr. Nguyen Hong Lam, Chairman of Hong Lam Apricot, founder of a famous brand with over 20 years of experience in the food industry. He has helped young businesses learn about building and optimizing sustainable business models.

Mr. Tran Bang Viet, an expert with many years of experience in consulting and developing business models, brings many valuable lessons to the CYE 2024 competition.

Le Hoang Uyen Vy, General Partner at Do Ventures, Chairman of VPCA, Vice Chairman of VECOM, Forbes 30 Under 30 Vietnam & Asia, is one of the most influential people in the investment and technology industry in Vietnam.

CEO Mai Sao Lonsdale – Founder and CEO of Lixibox - an online beauty technology platform, shares her experience starting a business in Silicon Valley and lessons learned in building a business from scratch.

Ms. To Hong Trang, Deputy General Director and Co-founder of Digiworld, shares successful strategies in developing business models and optimizing operations. Digiworld is currently one of the leading companies in the ICT distribution market in Vietnam.

In addition, the event will also host a final round of debates for the top 5 startups who have overcome the rigorous rounds to reach the finals. This is a great opportunity for conference attendees to "fight" with the competing teams, learn from the judges' Q&A session, and thereby, improve their own business models.

The program is held in more than 20 countries and attracts thousands of entrepreneurs each year.
