Messi and Inter Miami were unable to beat the European Champions League champions.
David Beckham acknowledged this in a message posted on Instagram: "PSG are the best team in the world right now. Our (Inter Miami's) journey in the Club World Cup is over. I am very proud of the players, staff and fans, for all that we have achieved together over the past few weeks."
We showed the world what Miami is capable of, performing on the biggest stage against the best teams. Congratulations and good luck to PSG. Inter Miami, continue your journey towards your dream."

PSG is the former club of David Beckham, as is the club of the legendary Messi. When they met again, nothing good happened. Inter Miami, founded by David Beckham and elevated by Messi, lost heavily to the formidable PSG on June 30th, ending their Club World Cup journey in their first appearance in the Round of 16.
"They are a great team – after all, they are the reigning Champions League champions, and that says a lot. The game went exactly as we expected. We gave our all, and I think we made a good impression at the Club World Cup. We played well, but now it's over and we have to focus on MLS and what's coming next," Messi expressed.
According to American media reports, after the conclusion of the Club World Cup, Inter Miami's management, including David Beckham and billionaire Jorge Mas, will urgently proceed with extending Messi's contract and upgrading the current squad with higher-quality signings.

PSG players comforted Messi, their former teammate.

Messi helped Inter Miami reach the Round of 16 of the Club World Cup, earning them a total of $21.05 million (over 551 billion VND). This is dozens of times more than the prize money they received for winning the MLS Cup in the US (only $300,000).
Therefore, the Club World Cup campaign has truly given Inter Miami a huge financial boost, contributing to their projected revenue for 2025 increasing significantly to nearly $350 million (approximately 9.14 trillion VND), according to the Spanish newspaper AS .
After the Club World Cup, Messi and Inter Miami returned to play in the MLS, where they are currently ranked 6th in the Eastern Conference with 29 points after 16 games, having played four fewer games than the other teams, and 11 points behind league leaders Philadelphia Union.
Messi and Inter Miami have two consecutive away games against CF Montreal (6:30 AM on July 6th) and New England Revolution (6:30 AM on July 10th). These are two matches they need to win to close the gap with the leading group.
