Attending the conference were Major General Nguyen Van Tien, Deputy Commander of Military Region 9; Comrade Huynh Quoc Viet, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Military Service Council.
In 2023, Ca Mau province assigned 974 citizens, reaching 100% of the target. Of which, 804 citizens (including 4 women) were assigned to the Army and 170 citizens were assigned to the Police.
The quality of citizens joining the army is relatively even. Specifically, there are 756 citizens with secondary and high school education; 44 citizens with college and university degrees; 4 citizens with intermediate education; 8 party members, accounting for 1%; 99% are union members.
Military recruitment is carried out strictly, publicly, transparently, democratically, and in accordance with the law.
Military rear policy work is implemented thoughtfully and promptly by localities, thereby helping families and citizens who have been recruited feel secure and ready to join the army to perform the task of protecting the Fatherland.
Regarding the upcoming tasks, the Military Service Council of Ca Mau province will continue to implement the motto of recruiting the best people. Strengthen propaganda andeducation to raise awareness among all classes of people, especially citizens of military service age.
In selecting and calling citizens to join the army, quality is important; procedures must be fully and correctly implemented from the stage of gathering sources, health examination, discussion, and issuing orders to call citizens to join the army. At the same time, cases of resistance or evasion from performing military service must be strictly handled.
Directing the conference, Major General Nguyen Van Tien, Deputy Commander of Military Region 9, acknowledged the results achieved by the Military Service Council of Ca Mau province in selecting and calling citizens to join the army in 2023. The selection and calling of citizens to join the army ensured quality, the military service met the target, and ensured absolute safety.
To effectively carry out the work of selecting and calling citizens to join the army in 2024, Major General Nguyen Van Tien requested the Provincial Military Service Council to strictly implement regulations on military recruitment, and at the same time promote the role of military agencies at all levels in advising and proposing to well implement the stages and steps in selecting and calling citizens to join the army, especially the stage of firmly grasping the source as well as strictly managing young people of military service age in the locality.
In addition, strictly handle cases of evading military service, thereby serving as a deterrent to citizens who do not comply with the Law on Military Service.
Speaking at the conclusion of the conference, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Quoc Viet, Chairman of the Provincial Military Service Council, assessed that the results achieved in selecting and calling citizens to join the army in 2023 were due to the attention and decisive direction of Party committees and authorities at all levels, thereby ensuring quality and meeting the set targets.
In that spirit, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Military Service Councils at all levels to strictly implement regulations in military recruitment, ensuring democracy, publicity and transparency.
In addition, promote the propaganda of the Law on Military Service; coordinate closely and synchronously among all levels and sectors in propagating and mobilizing citizens to strictly implement the Law on Military Service.
In military recruitment, pay attention to the educational level of the recruited citizens. Implement well the military rear policy to promptly encourage and support citizens to feel secure when joining the army and fulfilling their civic duty to the Fatherland.
