In his opening remarks at the seminar, Comrade Le Quoc Minh stated that more than 99 years ago, on June 21, 1925, the Thanh Nien (Youth) newspaper, founded by leader Nguyen Ai Quoc, published its first issue, marking the birth of revolutionary journalism in Vietnam. The current Party newspaper system comprises media outlets with a long history and tradition at the central and local levels. These are the voice of the Party and the State, and a forum for the people; they are the most official, reliable, and accurate channels of information and propaganda, enjoying prestige both domestically and internationally.

In particular, since the issuance of Resolution No. 35-NQ/TƯ of the XII Politburo on "Strengthening the protection of the Party's ideological foundation and combating erroneous and hostile viewpoints in the new situation," press agencies within the Party's press system have participated very actively and effectively, through various rich forms and creative approaches.

Specialized sections, columns, and articles on protecting the Party's ideological foundation are regularly maintained. Many of these works are outstanding, having a profound impact on cadres, Party members, and the general public, strengthening the people's trust in the Party and the country's path to socialism. This contributes to the rapid implementation of the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws and regulations into practical life.

At the same time, Party newspapers play a crucial role in guiding public opinion, disseminating and reinforcing positive information in the daily news flow; and in promptly reflecting the legitimate aspirations, requests, and suggestions of the people, contributing to strengthening the close relationship between the Party and the people and the national unity.

However, in practice, Party newspapers face numerous difficulties and challenges in fulfilling their nhiệm vụ of protecting the Party's ideological foundation and combating erroneous and hostile viewpoints. Especially as Vietnam integrates more deeply into the international community, coupled with the explosion of information on the Internet and social media, hostile forces and erroneous viewpoints exploit cyberspace to spread propaganda aimed at undermining the Party's ideological foundation.

According to Professor Dr. Le Van Loi, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Political Academy: the task of protecting the Party's ideological foundation and combating erroneous and hostile viewpoints in the new situation continues to face many difficulties and challenges due to the complex developments in the region and the world. This is placing increasingly complex and demanding requirements on agencies within the Party's press system in implementing Resolution No. 35-NQ/TƯ of the Politburo.

"Continuing to improve the quality and further enhance the leading role of the Party's press system in protecting the Party's ideological foundation and combating erroneous and hostile viewpoints is essential," emphasized Professor Dr. Le Van Loi.

At the workshop, delegates focused on exchanging and discussing several important issues, such as: analyzing and clarifying the theoretical and practical basis of the Party's press system in protecting the Party's ideological foundation and combating false and hostile viewpoints...
