On October 25th, the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, in collaboration with Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper, organized a seminar titled "Promoting the Application of AI in Education and Training – Benefits and Challenges," attracting many experts, educators, and administrators.
Mr. Nguyen Khac Van, Acting Editor-in-Chief of Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper, stated that Resolution 71-NQ/TW (August 22, 2025) of the Politburo identifies "comprehensive digital transformation, widespread adoption and strong application of digital technology and artificial intelligence in education and training" as one of the strategic breakthrough tasks. He emphasized that this is not only a strategic direction but also a practical imperative, requiring the education sector to proactively innovate its thinking and teaching and learning methods to keep pace with global trends.

According to him, AI is opening up many new opportunities for Vietnamese education, such as expanding access to knowledge, narrowing regional gaps, promoting personalized education, and fostering creativity, but it also poses major challenges regarding data security, academic ethics, teachers' digital competence, and the risk of technological dependence.
"How can AI serve humanity, rather than replace humanity? That's the core question," Mr. Nguyen Khac Van emphasized.
Dr. Le Thi Mai Hoa, Deputy Director of the Education Department (Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee), put forward six key recommendations: Develop a "National AI Literacy" program to popularize AI knowledge among teachers and students; Cultivate digital skills and ethical principles for using AI among teachers; Integrate AI into STEM subjects; Develop an academic ethics framework for the use of AI in teaching and research; Invest in digital infrastructure and develop a "Make in Vietnam" AI platform; Promote awareness and education about AI throughout the education sector.

Professor Le Anh Vinh, representing the Vietnam Institute of Educational Sciences , stated that the Ministry of Education and Training is developing an AI education program from grade 1 to grade 12, but implementation is limited due to a lack of human resources and infrastructure. He proposed three pillars for sustainable development: consistent policies, flexible programs, and synchronized investment of resources.
Mr. Huynh Thanh Dat, Member of the Central Committee of the Party and Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, suggested that the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry of Science and Technology should soon advise the Government to issue an AI ethics framework and an AI education program for general education. At the same time, they should research the establishment of a Digital Transformation Fund in Education to mobilize social resources and promote the application of AI and digital infrastructure in the sector.
