Lieutenant General Nguyen Quoc Duyet, Commander of the Hanoi Capital Command, has just signed a submission to the Hanoi People's Committee proposing the organization of a fireworks display to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of Hanoi (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024).
To focus on addressing the consequences of Typhoon No. 3 and to contribute to supporting people in areas severely affected by the storm, the Hanoi Capital Command proposes that Hanoi City only organize a fireworks display at one location in Hoan Kiem District, from 9:30 PM to 9:45 PM on October 10th.
For the remaining 29 districts and towns of Hanoi, the Hanoi Capital Command has proposed not holding fireworks displays.
The Hanoi Capital Command announced that the amount of fireworks for the firing point in Hoan Kiem district, and the assigned tasks for departments, agencies, the Hoan Kiem District People's Committee, and related units, remain unchanged according to the city's Plan No. 201 dated June 29, 2024.
Previously, Hanoi planned to hold fireworks displays at 30 locations with 31 firing sites. These included one site with a high-altitude fireworks display combined with low-altitude fireworks and pyrotechnics, eight sites with a high-altitude fireworks display combined with low-altitude fireworks, and 22 sites with a low-altitude fireworks display.
On September 21, the Ministry of National Defense also decided not to hold a parade or march during the 80th anniversary celebration of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (scheduled for December 22) in order to focus on overcoming the consequences of Typhoon No. 3.
