Ho Chi Minh City University of Science converts foreign language certificates for the first time

The Admissions Council of the University of Science (Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City) has just announced new information on the school's regular university admissions in 2025.

This year, the school plans to enroll 4,455 students for 31 majors/groups of majors in standard programs, English-enhanced programs and advanced programs.

The school uses three admission methods.

Method 1 includes: Direct admission, priority admission according to the regulations on regular university admission of the Ministry of Education and Training ; Priority admission according to the regulations of Ho Chi Minh City National University; Priority admission according to the regulations of Ho Chi Minh City National University; Admission based on the results of international language certificates (English) combined with high school study results for advanced programs, English enhancement programs

Method 2: Admission based on the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam.

Method 3: Admission based on the results of the competency assessment exam organized by Ho Chi Minh City National University in 2025.

This year, the University of Natural Sciences (Ho Chi Minh City National University) for the first time applied the conversion of TOEFL iBT/IELTS foreign language certificates to the method of using the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam.

If the converted score of the English certificate is higher than the 2025 High School Exam score in English, the converted score will be used to replace the candidate's English score.

At the same time, the school also announced the conversion rules for equivalent input thresholds and admission scores between admission method combinations.

Accordingly, the rules for converting equivalent scores from transcripts to 2025 high school scores are implemented according to the instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training and Ho Chi Minh City National University.

The quality assurance threshold for the admission method based on high school graduation exam scores will be decided and announced by the school's Admissions Council after the high school graduation exam scores are available for candidates to adjust according to the general admission plan of the Ministry of Education and Training.

For admission based on the results of the competency assessment exam organized by Ho Chi Minh City National University in 2025, based on the exam results, the University's Admissions Council will decide and announce.

The threshold to ensure input quality if using the competency assessment test method is not lower than 600 points.

The input quality assurance threshold of the remaining methods will be based on the quality assurance threshold of the method using the 2025 high school exam results for equivalent conversion.

Highest tuition fee 67 million VND/year

Estimated tuition fees for the first year range from 28.4-67 million VND/year, depending on the major and training program.

In which, computer science, the advanced program has the highest tuition fee. Tuition fee is increased every year.

Candidates admitted to the school will be considered for full scholarships (first year and with conditions to maintain in each following semester) for candidates with excellent achievements in science and technology competitions, Olympic exams, excellent student exams in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, and informatics (first prize at national level, gold, silver, and bronze medals at international level) and candidates with the highest scores (excluding priority points) in the admission exam.

Scholarships of 50-100% of first-year tuition fees are available to high-achieving candidates in majors serving sustainable development goals and national strategies (including majors in geology, oceanography , general environmental science, environmental engineering technology, geological engineering, nuclear engineering) and many other types of scholarships for new students.
