Trieu Coffee Shop (Binh Loi Trung Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) has been using the miniature cooking model like playing with toys for more than a month now. This unique style attracts many customers to the shop, especially on weekends.
Learn to cook with tiny items
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thai Hien (40 years old, coffee shop owner) said that because she really wanted to play cooking when she was little but did not have the conditions, she decided to decorate the shop with miniature items. The shop has a nostalgic style, so this model is suitable for the space of the shop, so that anyone who comes to the shop will feel like they are returning to the past.
At first, the shop only displayed miniature cooking utensils in a small corner. Gradually, customers came to ask and she came up with the idea of putting this model of cooking food like playing with toys into operation.

The shop uses real food, a real kitchen and has all the utensils from pots, pans, cutting boards, knives, bowls, chopsticks… Everything is made in small sizes to serve the customers’ needs of playing with food. Coming to the shop, customers have 1 hour to play and when the cooking is done, they can enjoy the food.
The staff in the shop go to the market and buy fresh ingredients every day. Customers also need to make an appointment in advance so that the shop can prepare carefully and have enough space for customers to show off their skills.
Sharing with Thanh Nien , Mr. Nguyen Thanh Vy (20 years old, shop manager) said: "Because the clip on TikTok has received hundreds of thousands of views, and more customers have come, the shop has to prepare many sets of cooking utensils. Finding tiny cooking utensils that can be used safely is very difficult. We even have to order some dishes from abroad."

The shop uses small alcohol fires to ensure safety for users.

Through this new activity model, Ms. Thai Hien hopes that everyone will know how to cook and prepare their own meals. "This is also a playground for children, helping them gain life experiences as well as practice cooking habits, preparing food, cooking and decorating dishes. Enjoying dishes created by their own hands will make children excited and they can help their families prepare daily meals. From there, children can grow up and appreciate what they make."
Return to childhood in the heart of the city
The tiny tools seem to only attract children to play, but many students and working people spend time coming to the shop to experience. Mr. Pham Ngoc Son (24 years old, in Phu Tho ward) said: "In the past, when I played cooking, I scooped water hyacinth from the river and cut it into loaves of bread, not like this. But because I wanted to return to my childhood, I came to the shop to experience it."

"What attracts my children and I to the shop is cooking with a real kitchen, real food with a mini version. Those who have small children can come to experience it. Not only children but also older children, even parents like me want to play", Ms. Lucie shared on social networks.

During the work, the staff also received many interesting comments. Mr. Thanh Vy recounted: "There are children who play very happily, after cooking they eat the food they made, even though they did not like it before. There are parents who are very happy when at home their children do not like to eat soup or vegetables, but after coming to the shop, they like the new dishes."
For Ms. Thai Hien, this coffee shop is her "brainchild." Just coming to the shop and sipping a cup of coffee makes her feel comfortable. In the future, the shop plans to improve the space and diversify the dishes so that customers will have new experiences when they come back.
