On February 2, information from the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases said that during the Lunar New Year, doctors from the Department of Orthopedics and Spinal Neurology of the Hospital received a patient bitten by a dog.

Accordingly, the boy BA (10 years old in Hanoi ) was taken to the hospital by his family with many wounds on his body, including his temples, thighs, arms and legs. The wounds had obvious teeth marks, serious due to being bitten by a dog. The family said the child was bitten by a dog while going to wish a happy new year.

Immediately after the examination, the doctors performed 9 stitches on the large open wounds and took care of the remaining wounds.

Doctor Pham Van Tinh, Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases said: Patients are closely monitored for 5-7 days to check for signs of infection (swelling, heat, redness, pain, pus).

Although it was Tet holiday, for the health of the patients, the Hospital mobilized staff from the Vaccination Department to inject anti-rabies serum, rabies vaccine, and tetanus vaccine immediately after the wounds were treated.
