Pedagogy benchmark scores lead the 2025 admission season, 50 majors are taken from 28 points

(Dan Tri) - In 2025, among the 74 majors with a high school graduation benchmark score of 28 or higher, pedagogy accounts for 50, according to data from the Ministry of Education and Training.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), key engineering and strategic technology sectors strongly attract excellent candidates, especially at top universities.

Accordingly, in the 74 majors with a standard score based on the high school graduation exam score of 28/30 or higher, there are 50 pedagogical majors and 17 STEM majors such as computer science , artificial intelligence, semiconductor microchips, control and automation...

Meanwhile, the average benchmark in 2025 is about 3 points lower than in 2024.

In the 2024-2025 school year, the results of implementing the targets by university and pedagogical majors are in the group with low results, only reaching 5% of the target. The health major group reached 6%. The two major groups with the highest results are business and management (25%), and computer and information technology (12%).

The average benchmark score of all admission methods for all majors and schools in 2025 is 19.11 (22.05 in 2024). This reduction is consistent with the sharp decrease in high school graduation exam scores in 2024 in three subjects: math, biology and English.

In 2025, the total number of candidates registering for admission will reach 852,000 with 7.6 million wishes for more than 4,000 majors and training programs of more than 500 universities and colleges nationwide.

According to the Ministry of Education and Training , the entire process from registration, fee payment, virtual filtering and admission confirmation, there were no errors from the general system.

As for the Northern group (chaired by Hanoi University of Science and Technology), which organized a general admission exam for 65 training institutions, the initial admission exam software was overloaded due to the large amount of calculations. The Ministry of Education and Training requested to extend the nationwide virtual filtering time by 2 more days but still ensure the announcement of admission exam results on schedule (August 22).

As of September 2, the number of candidates completing admission confirmation was 625,477, an increase of 13.82% compared to 2024.

Of which, the university sector alone is 613,335, equivalent to 52.87% of the total number of candidates taking the graduation exam. However, the number of training facilities can only recruit less than 30% of the target, accounting for 6.5%. This figure in 2024 will be 16.4%.
