In contrast to the fast-paced atmosphere of the previous days, today's athletics events shifted to those requiring endurance and long-distance stamina.
These events are not Vietnam's strengths in athletics, but the athletes still competed with great effort to bring home two bronze medals for the Vietnamese sports delegation.
In the women's marathon, Bui Thi Thu Ha competed persistently and strived to maintain her pace throughout the race. The Vietnamese runner finished with a time of 2 hours 54 minutes and 49 seconds, thereby winning the bronze medal.
In the men's marathon, despite his best efforts, Hoang Nguyen Thanh unfortunately finished in 4th place and did not make it into the medal group. Of the three runners ahead of him, the Indonesian runner took first place with a time of 2 hours and 15 minutes, while the other two positions were taken by runners from the Philippines.
In the men's 20km race walk, Nguyen Thanh Ngung finished third thanks to his endurance and experience, thereby winning another bronze medal for Vietnamese athletics.
Earlier, in the women's 20km race walk, athlete Nguyen Thi Thanh Phuc was unable to complete the race due to injury. After competing for about 11km, the runner from Da Nang had to stop for medical attention.
