This is the peak cinnamon harvest season in Phong Nien and Xuan Giao communes, hundreds of local households simultaneously exploit cinnamon products for processing and consumption. To help people, workers from the Operation Management Team (Bao Thang Electricity) are always on duty at the cinnamon hills, proactively monitoring safety and providing technical support to people. Their task is not only to protect the power grid, but also to contribute to protecting people's lives and property during the exploitation process.

Cinnamon is a major crop with high economic value, and the area of cultivation has been expanded by the people of Bao Thang district in recent years. Due to its tall, straight trunk, and good growth on steep hillsides and along streams, many areas of cinnamon trees have approached or even reached the safety corridor of the power grid. When encountering sudden storms, trees falling on power lines can cause serious incidents such as widespread power outages, equipment explosions, and even threaten people's lives...

Tall cinnamon trees outside the power grid corridor are carefully tied up by Bao Thang Electricity workers to prevent them from falling onto the power lines.

Fully aware of this risk, over the years, Bao Thang Power has persistently implemented synchronous measures to protect the power grid corridor. The unit regularly conducts field inspections and widely disseminates to people about not planting new tall trees under the corridor or close to medium and high voltage lines. At high-risk locations, Bao Thang Power proactively posts warning signs, clearly stating the contact phone number for technical support, helping people to promptly coordinate when it is necessary to exploit or handle tall trees.

Upon receiving requests for support from local residents, the Operation Management Team developed a plan and went to the site to provide technical guidance on tying and trimming tall trees outside the corridor that could fall onto the power lines. The entire process was strictly monitored and complied with electrical safety regulations.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Hung, Deputy Head of the Operation Management Team, who directly commanded the scene, said: “Ensuring the safety of the power grid corridor is very important, so we always try our best to avoid any incidents. Therefore, every call from the people is handled urgently, regardless of holidays or weekends.”

Thanks to the responsible and proactive participation of the electricity industry, along with the cooperation of the people, up to now, in areas with cinnamon forests near power lines, there have been no incidents related to violations of the power grid safety corridor.

One of the key factors that helps the corridor protection work achieve high results is close communication and propaganda activities at the grassroots level. Through village meetings, social networks, and documents distributed directly to households, Bao Thang Electricity staff have helped people understand the risks when planting or harvesting trees near power lines, thereby forming the habit of proactively informing and coordinating with the electricity industry during harvest periods.

Thanks to that, people are not only the beneficiaries but also have become partners with the electricity industry in protecting safe power grid corridors.
