According to Sohu, Ngo Bac Quan's life was spent quietly, as was his dedication to art. Joining TVB in the 1970s, Ngo Bac Quan is a familiar face in a series of classic martial arts films. Although he mainly plays supporting roles, each of his roles leaves a special mark.
In Thien long bat bo , he plays Phong Ba Ac - one of Murong Phuc's trusted guards, with a thick beard, fierce eyes and imposing demeanor.
In The Deer and the Cauldron , he played the role of a master of the Golden Cauldron sect, called "big brother" by Wei Xiaobao. Although his roles did not have many lines, they created the soul of the films.
However, his career took a turn when the 1997 financial crisis caused TVB to cut staff.
At the age of 40, he was laid off and had to work many jobs to make a living, but none of them lasted long.

Around 2018, Ngo Bac Quan suddenly became paralyzed on one side of his body and had to be hospitalized. Doctors diagnosed him with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS ). The disease progressed, causing him to lose the ability to walk, become bedridden, and completely dependent on caregivers.
Due to the high cost of treatment and almost no accumulated assets, he was forced to ask for help from friends, then launched a community fundraising campaign.
Big names in the entertainment industry such as Louis Koo, Wayne Lai, Mak Cheung Ching, and Jessica Chung Yen also donated to him in his later years.
