She has 9 months of clinical nutrition experience in the nutrition team. The center where she works does not have enough conditions to establish a nutrition department and does not have a supervisor.

Ms. Dung asked, are you qualified to apply for a clinical nutrition practice license?

Regarding this issue, the Ministry of Health responded as follows:

In Clause 4, Article 3 of Decree No. 96/2023/ND-CP dated December 30, 2023 of the Government detailing a number of articles of the Law on Medical Examination and Treatment, the provisions on practice to grant a license to practice medical examination and treatment for the title of clinical nutritionist are as follows: The practice period for medical examination and treatment for the title of clinical nutritionist is 06 months.

Clause 6, Article 5 of Decree No. 96/2023/ND-CP stipulates the practice basis for granting a license to practice medical examination and treatment for the title of clinical nutrition as follows:

Practical guidance facility for clinical nutrition titles: Medical examination and treatment facilities are licensed to operate in the form of hospitals and have a specialized nutrition department.

We recommend that Ms. Dung contact the medical examination and treatment facility as prescribed above for consideration and guidance on organizing practice according to Article 7 of this Decree.
