On September 22, the flag-raising ceremony of the Vietnamese sports delegation at the 19th ASIAD will take place, followed by the opening ceremony that will officially open the 19th ASIAD. However, on September 19 and 20, our athletes competed in two sports: men's football and rowing, and both achieved positive results.
Mr. Dang Ha Viet said: "Preparations for key sports groups are now complete, and the athletes are all in great shape. In particular, the women's rowing event has 2 semi-finalists and 4 finalists."
After completing the procedures to enter the athletes' village, members of the Vietnamese sports delegation had time to enjoy dinner with delicious meals in a warm atmosphere.
The Vietnamese sports delegation attending the 19th ASIAD has 504 members, including 22 team leaders, 11 experts, 90 coaches and 337 athletes, competing in 31 out of 40 sports.
"The goal of Vietnamese sports is to win from 2 to 5 gold medals, with many athletes qualifying for the 2024 Paris Olympics. Reality shows that achieving results at the Games is very difficult. In addition to key athletes with the ability to make breakthroughs, other athletes must strive to surpass themselves. This is also the determination to achieve results and also the promise of the Vietnamese sports delegation before setting off on their mission," emphasized head of delegation Dang Ha Viet.
