(LĐ online) - On the afternoon of May 9, the Chairman of Ward 12 People's Committee, Da Lat City, said that through working and persuading Thuy Duong Company Limited, they had voluntarily dismantled all the iron fences encroaching on the road boundary of Xuan Huong Lake.

Thuy Duong Company Limited - the management and exploitation unit of Than Tho Lake Scenic Relic in Da Lat City, previously arbitrarily erected an iron fence encroaching on the road corridor of Xuan Huong Lake, causing dissatisfaction among local people.

According to authorities, the iron fence encroaching on the road boundary, which is more than 1.2 m high and about 20 m long, was temporarily erected by the company itself to prevent surrounding households from dumping garbage and affecting the Company.

During the meeting, the Ward People's Committee requested the enterprise to voluntarily dismantle and return the road to a clear space.

At the end of March 2025, the People's Committee of Ward 12, Da Lat City also worked with Thuy Duong Company Limited and determined that the fence was located on the road boundary of Ho Xuan Huong Street, so it requested the Company to remove the entire illegal fence according to regulations, but the enterprise did not comply.

Only after receiving press reports and the drastic intervention of Da Lat City authorities, on the afternoon of May 9, did the enterprise dismantle all the fences, but still did not return the sidewalk to the road.

The sidewalk has been planted with trees and flowers.

As Lam Dong Newspaper has reported, for many months now, Thuy Duong Company has arbitrarily erected iron fences along Xuan Huong Lake Road, covering the entire roadside to plant trees and flowers for the purpose of exploiting tourism of the enterprise. It is worth mentioning that the fenced area is located right at the intersection of a residential area, many vehicles coming and going have caused traffic insecurity. This area was previously used by residents as a place to collect garbage trucks, but now it has been fenced off and the garbage trucks are brought out onto the road and people are not allowed to dump garbage, causing many people to be upset.

Regarding the incident, the People's Committee of Ward 12, Da Lat City said that it had issued an invitation to resolve the petition of Thuy Duong Company Limited on environmental sanitation and survey the garbage collection location of the people on the afternoon of May 12.
