Connecting routes, unlocking the potential of remote areas

The road connecting Tan Son (Ninh Thuan) and Ta Nang (Lam Dong) is gradually taking shape, attracting the attention of people, especially residents of Duc Trong district. This is not only a simple traffic project but also an infrastructure "boost", opening up opportunities for socio-economic development for the whole region, especially the remote areas of the two provinces.

The route connecting the two regions put into use opens up many development opportunities.

• TRANSPORTATION "BLOODLINE" FOR ETHNIC MINORITY AREAS

Loan area includes 5 remote communes of Duc Trong district (Da Loan, Ninh Loan, Ta Nang, Ta Hine and Da Quyn), transportation is still limited, people's lives mainly depend on agriculture . The rate of ethnic minorities here is quite high, and many people still face difficulties in life.

The route connecting to Ninh Thuan province will bring many opportunities to people in Loan area. The project has a total length of 63.32 km, a total investment of more than 1,494 billion VND, divided into two phases. Phase 1 (the road from Tan Son town to Ma Noi commune) was completed and put into use from the end of 2023; while phase 2 is being accelerated and is expected to open on April 30, 2025.

When completed, the route will act as a traffic "blood vessel", connecting national arterial routes such as the North-South Expressway, National Highways 20, 28B, 27 and National Highway 1. This will help maximize tourism potential and promote trade for people in the Loan region who mainly live on agriculture.

Tan Son - Ta Nang route, when put into use, will open up many development opportunities.

• REMOVE "BOTTOM LINES" TO REALIZE EXPECTATIONS

However, to turn expectations into reality, the project still faces some challenges such as: problems with land, compensation procedures, resettlement... To solve these problems, close coordination between authorities at all levels and consensus of the people is needed.

Site clearance is always a difficult problem for transport projects. Thanks to the drastic participation of authorities at all levels, site clearance work in Ninh Thuan province has been completed. In Lam Dong, although there are still some problems, the Provincial People's Committee directed the Duc Trong District People's Committee to remove them so that construction units can speed up the progress to ensure completion on schedule and basically, the problems caused by site clearance work have been resolved.

When the route is completed, it will not only facilitate transportation but also open up many development opportunities for the whole region. Ninh Son can develop eco-tourism, exploit mineral water and natural landscapes. Duc Trong can connect with Ninh Son to develop trade services, trade in agricultural products, eco-tourism combined with agriculture.

In particular, in the context of the policy of merging provinces being considered by the Central Government, the completion of the route will create an important premise for socio-economic linkage, maximizing the potential of localities.

With the determination of provincial leaders, the consensus of the people and the efforts of the construction units, the route is expected to be completed on time, before the "G hour" of merging the provinces.
