DNVN - Suntory PepsiCo has just celebrated its 30th anniversary in Vietnam, affirming its commitment to long-term development and contributing to the realization of sustainable development goals, through strategic public-private partnership models with the Government.
Since 1994, the company has been one of the pioneering foreign-invested enterprises investing in the market. Over the past three decades, Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam has always accompanied the development of Vietnam, constantly increasing investment and expanding production and business scale. From the first two products, Pepsi and 7UP, to date, the product portfolio has grown to 13 diverse brands, serving millions of Vietnamese people every year and maintaining the leading position in the beverage industry for more than 20 years.
With 6 factories nationwide located in Can Tho, Dong Nai, Hoc Mon, Quang Nam , Bac Ninh and soon Long An, the company is currently creating jobs for nearly 3,000 direct employees and thousands of indirect workers. Not only that, the company also actively contributes to the state budget and the locality where the factories operate, continuously being in the Top 100 largest tax-paying enterprises for eight consecutive years.
Not only leading in business, Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam is also a pioneer in sustainable development activities, bringing practical values to the community. The company accompanies the Vietnamese Government 's commitment to sustainable development, focusing on solving urgent environmental, social and community issues. The sustainable development strategy focuses on 6 pillars to create positive impacts for people and the planet: creating positive impacts on water resources; reducing greenhouse gas emissions; promoting sustainable packaging; taking care of consumer and employee health; creating a diverse, equitable and inclusive (DEI) environment; enriching community life.
In line with the Vietnamese Government’s commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to zero, Suntory PepsiCo is implementing a roadmap to reduce greenhouse gas emissions not only in its production activities but also throughout the value chain. The company is gradually converting from fossil fuels to renewable energy, initially through installing biomass fuel systems at 100% of its factories nationwide by 2024.
Suntory PepsiCo is a pioneer in promoting sustainable packaging by reducing the amount of virgin plastic in packaging, launching packaging made from 100% recycled plastic, and promoting education to change community behavior to improve collection and recycling efficiency.
