Towards establishing an internationally standardized R&D center in Ho Chi Minh City's High-Tech Park.

On October 24th, the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh City High- Tech Park (SHTP) held a ceremony to celebrate its 23rd anniversary and announced its development orientation for the 2025-2030 period , with the goal of becoming an internationally standardized research and development ( R&D) center , playing a core role in the innovation and science and technology ecosystem of Ho Chi Minh City .

Over more than 20 years of formation and development , Ho Chi Minh City High- Tech Park (SHTP ) has become one of the leading high- tech centers in the country , serving as the "nucleus of innovation " for the city and the Southern key economic region . SHTP has attracted over 160 investment projects with a total registered capital of over 12 billion USD, creating jobs for more than 52,000 workers and contributing approximately 1.7 billion USD to the state budget annually.

Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Nguyen Van Duoc , presented flowers to congratulate the High-Tech Park on its 23rd anniversary .

Speaking at the ceremony , Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc emphasized: "The High-Tech Park is a symbol of the city's aspiration to rise in the field of innovation , but it still needs to make stronger breakthroughs to become a regional center of technology and innovation . "

Chairman Nguyen Van Duoc proposed three key directions : Firstly , planning SHTP in the direction of a "science city " – a place where scientists , experts , and engineers converge in an ideal environment for creativity , work , and living ; secondly , strengthening the "three-party " linkage between the State , universities , and businesses . In particular , linking with the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City in training high - quality human resources ; Thirdly, we must accelerate administrative procedure reforms , creating the most favorable conditions for businesses to invest and operate .

"The city government is committed to working alongside SHTP to make it a knowledge - based , innovative economic center , not only producing high-tech products but also creating technology for the economy ," Chairman Nguyen Van Duoc affirmed .

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology announced the Decision approving the SHTP Research and Development Center .

On this occasion , the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology announced the Decision approving the SHTP Research and Development Center (SHTP Labs) as eligible to participate in the project to build an internationally accredited center ( CoE ) and the digital transformation – green transformation program . SHTP also signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology and the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City to effectively implement Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on the development of science and technology , innovation and national digital transformation .
