Towards an international standard R&D Center in Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park

On October 24, the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh City High -Tech Park (SHTP) held a ceremony to celebrate the 23rd anniversary of its establishment and announced its development orientation for the period 2025 - 2030 , with the goal of becoming an international standard research and development ( R &D) center , playing a core role in the innovation and science and technology ecosystem of Ho Chi Minh City .

After more than 20 years of formation and development , Ho Chi Minh City High - Tech Park has become one of the leading high- tech centers in the country , the "innovation nucleus " of the city and the key economic region of the South . SHTP has attracted more than 160 investment projects with a total registered capital of over 12 billion USD, creating jobs for more than 52,000 workers and contributing about 1.7 billion USD to the budget each year .

Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Du received flowers to congratulate the 23rd anniversary of the establishment of the High- Tech Park .

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc emphasized : "The High-Tech Park is a symbol of the city 's aspiration to rise in the field of innovation , but it still needs to make a stronger breakthrough to become a regional center of technology and innovation . "

Chairman Nguyen Van Du proposed three key orientations : First, planning SHTP in the direction of a " scientific urban area " - a place where scientists , experts and engineers gather , with an ideal creative , working and living environment ; second , strengthening the "three-house " connection between the State - School - Enterprise . Especially linking with Ho Chi Minh City National University in training high - quality human resources ; Third, promote administrative procedure reform , creating maximum favorable conditions for businesses to invest and operate .

“The city government is committed to helping SHTP become a center of knowledge-based economy and innovation , not only producing high-tech products but also creating technology for the economy ,” Chairman Nguyen Van Duoc affirmed .

The Department of Science and Technology of the City announced the Decision approving the SHTP Research and Development Center .

On this occasion , the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City announced the Decision approving the SHTP Research and Development Center (SHTP Labs) to be eligible to participate in the Project to build an international standard center ( CoE ) and the digital transformation - green transformation program . SHTP also signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation with the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City and Ho Chi Minh City National University to effectively implement Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on science and technology development , innovation and national digital transformation .
