Changing the face of the countryside from the patriotic emulation movement

Taking us on a tour of the traffic routes in the village, Mr. Hoang Sy Tan, Secretary of the Xuan Moi Village Party Cell, could not hide his pride: "The village currently has 230 households, with 1,179 people. Every year, closely following the plan of the Party Committee and the People's Committee of Yen Tho Commune, the village Party Cell has launched and implemented a patriotic emulation plan that is close to the actual situation, associated with practical works and tasks, focusing on key tasks and strategic breakthroughs of the village. Along with that, the village Party Cell has also strengthened propaganda work to attract a large number of people in the village to participate in the movement with many rich and diverse forms such as propaganda through the loudspeaker system, social networks, and village meetings. Thanks to that, the patriotic emulation movement in the village has increasingly received sympathy, positive response and aroused the spirit and creativity of all classes of people, creating a driving force to promote the socio -economic development of the village."

In particular, the economic development movement, focusing on economic restructuring, is prominent. In recent times, the village party cell has actively propagated and mobilized people to strongly shift the structure of varieties and seasons, and apply science and technology to cultivation and animal husbandry. Up to now, people in the village have converted 10 hectares of ineffective agricultural land to grow crops such as safe vegetables, cucumbers, and chili for export; maintained the cultivation of 2 hectares of sticky rice, and over 1 hectare of ornamental peach trees. In addition, in the village there are 17 households working in the service industry, 26 people working abroad in Korea, Japan, and Taiwan with high income. Thanks to the promotion of economic development, the average income per capita of the village has reached 73.5 million VND/year.

Along with economic development, the village party cell has focused on leading, directing, and proposing key tasks and solutions to create consensus among the people when participating in the movement to build new rural villages and model new rural areas. With the motto "Do easy things first, do difficult things later", "Party members go first, the village follows", the village party cell regularly organizes village meetings to collect people's opinions; at the same time, proactively goes to each family to grasp the situation, gradually remove difficulties, help people understand the benefits of building new rural areas and advanced new rural areas and take the lead in implementation to gain people's trust and support. Thanks to this approach, the process of building new rural areas and model new rural areas has achieved many proud results. Notably, the village has mobilized people to participate in contributing to building a system of cultural institutions such as: village cultural houses with full equipment, sports fields to meet the entertainment needs of the people. At the same time, the village has also built 2km of new walls and flower roads; repaired and upgraded 25 houses, toilets, fences, gates... with a total value of over 20 billion VND, of which 450 million VND was from the commune budget, the rest was mobilized from people's contributions. From those results, the village has achieved 14/15 criteria of a model new rural village and is currently the leading unit of Yen Tho commune.

Activities such as education and health care in the village are also focused on and implemented effectively. Currently, 100% of the village's children of school age go to school, no students drop out of school; the annual work of encouraging learning and talent is always focused on and the village's scholarship fund is used to encourage and motivate children with academic achievements in a timely manner. In the village, people also pay attention to environmental sanitation to keep the village roads bright - green - clean - beautiful.

The activities of the front committee and village organizations are also regularly innovated in terms of content and methods of operation in a practical, effective direction, with diverse forms of gathering members. At the same time, actively taking care of the lives, grasping the thoughts and aspirations of union members. Currently, the front committee and village organizations have actively coordinated to effectively implement emulation movements and campaigns with many forms and rich contents such as: the movement of the whole people uniting to build a cultural life; farmers competing in production and good business; solidarity to help each other reduce poverty quickly and sustainably... Through that, it contributes to strengthening the great solidarity of the whole people, creating momentum to complete the socio-economic development tasks of the village.

The patriotic emulation movement was widely organized, attracting a large number of people to participate, which became the driving force for Xuan Moi village to overcome many difficulties and challenges, achieving many positive and comprehensive results in all areas of social life. According to the Secretary of the Xuan Moi village Party Cell, Hoang Sy Tan: "The village continues to innovate the content and form of organizing emulation movements; linking emulation movements with political tasks and socio-economic development. At the same time, actively mobilizing the strength of the entire political system to participate, aiming to build an increasingly rich, civilized, and sustainably developed village".
