
In 2025, the policy of adding points for students taking the entrance exam for grade 10 public schools will change - this is the content mentioned in the Regulations on Secondary School Admissions and High School Admissions recently issued by the Ministry of Education and Training.
Subjects that are awarded points
Priority points are added to the total admission score calculated on a 10-point scale for each exam subject. Group 1 is given 2.0 points; Group 2 is given 1.5 points; Group 3 is given 1.0 point.
Group 1 includes: Children of martyrs; Children of war invalids with a loss of 81% or more of their working capacity; Children of sick soldiers with a loss of 81% or more of their working capacity; Children of people who are granted a "Certificate of beneficiaries of policies like war invalids, but the person granted a Certificate of beneficiaries of policies like war invalids has a loss of 81% or more of their working capacity"; Children of resistance fighters infected with toxic chemicals; Children of revolutionary fighters before January 1, 1945; Children of revolutionary fighters from January 1, 1945 to the August 1945 uprising.
Group 2 includes: Children of Armed Forces Heroes, Labor Heroes, and Heroic Vietnamese Mothers; Children of war invalids with less than 81% working capacity loss; Children of sick soldiers with less than 81% working capacity loss; Children of people who are granted "Certificate of beneficiaries of policies like war invalids, and the person granted the Certificate of beneficiaries of policies like war invalids has a working capacity loss of less than 81%.
Group 3 includes: People whose father or mother is an ethnic minority; Ethnic minorities; Students in areas with especially difficult socio -economic conditions.
Directly recruited subjects
The new circular stipulates the subjects that are admitted directly to high school, including 5 subjects: Students of ethnic boarding schools at junior high school level; Students from very small ethnic minorities; Students with disabilities;
Secondary school students who won national prizes organized by the Ministry of Education and Training or in coordination with ministries and ministerial-level agencies organized nationwide in competitions, contests, and competitions (hereinafter referred to as competitions) on culture, arts, and sports; scientific and technical research competitions; Secondary school students who won prizes in international competitions selected by the Minister of Education and Training.
