On October 19, the 33rd SEA Games Organizing Committee held a draw and divided the groups for women's football at the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand.

In women's football, there are 8 teams divided into 2 groups of 4 teams each. The draw results determined that group A includes Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore and Cambodia. The Vietnamese team is in group B with Myanmar, Malaysia and the Philippines.

According to experts, this is a difficult group with the participation of 3 teams capable of competing for the gold medal: Vietnam, Myanmar and the Philippines.
Among them, Myanmar is always a tough team for any opponent, while the Philippines with its force of naturalized players has made great progress in recent times.
These two teams are always strong candidates for the championship in regional competitions.
Meanwhile, host Thailand has an easier time being in group A with Cambodia, Singapore and Indonesia.

In this group, Thailand is considered the most promising candidate for the top spot and a place in the semi-finals. Meanwhile, Indonesia with its naturalized players has the advantage in the race for the remaining ticket.
In the 2 groups, the teams compete in a round robin to calculate rankings, the top two teams in each group enter the semi-finals.
The group stage takes place from December 4 to 13, the semi-finals on December 14 and the bronze medal match and final on December 17.
The matches were held at two stadiums, Chonburi and TNSU Chonburi (Thailand), with Chonburi stadium hosting the semi-finals and finals.
