(CLO) On the morning of December 2, at the Hanoi Opera House, Education and Times Newspaper held a ceremony to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the publication of its first issue.

Reviewing 65 years of glorious tradition of Education and Times Newspaper, Editor-in-Chief Trieu Ngoc Lam sent his deep thanks to generations of leaders of the Ministry of Education and Training , and expressed his gratitude to his predecessors and colleagues who have contributed to the process of building the Newspaper's brand, creating milestones in the process of innovation and development of Education and Times Newspaper.

65 years ago, the Education & Times Newspaper (formerly the People's Teacher Newspaper) published its first issue. 65 years of establishment and development, the Newspaper has always been deeply attached to the education and training cause of the country, becoming a close companion of teachers across the country. The Newspaper is a bridge between education and society and a forum for the whole society for the education and training cause.

Throughout the process of innovation and integration of the country, the Newspaper has always adhered to its objectives and goals, performed well the task of propagating for the cause of education and training development; reflected major political events and economic, cultural and social issues related to education and training.

The newspaper has demonstrated its role as the key media unit of the education sector. Many forums, discussions, and reception of public opinions that the leaders of the Ministry of Education and Training entrusted have been implemented by the newspaper's staff and reporters with good results.

“I and the Education and Times Newspaper team always recognize and deeply understand that today’s achievements have great contributions from previous generations. Our predecessors have given us confidence, love for the profession, determination and will to complete our mission. That is also the tradition of solidarity, unanimity, and always loving and helping each other of the big Education and Times Newspaper family,” journalist Trieu Ngoc Lam shared.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son stated that the 65-year journey with many important achievements of the Education and Times Newspaper shows the determination and efforts of the collective of cadres, reporters, editors, collaborators and employees of the Newspaper through the periods. On behalf of the leaders of the Ministry of Education and Training, the Minister respectfully acknowledged, praised, thanked and congratulated the collective of the Education and Times Newspaper.

In the context of the current information explosion, topics related to education always become issues that attract a lot of debate, even fierce debate, not only in cyberspace but also everywhere, at all times. Newspapers need to fulfill their mission of communicating information, making transparent and popularizing policy information, orientation and guidance of the education sector with reliable, diverse, complete, accessible and understandable information sources for those in the education system, those interested in education and those involved.

"With the experience from the past 65 years, with new opportunities of a new development stage and with the ability to position itself in the general flow of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism of an industry newspaper, Education and Times Newspaper needs to confidently develop with its own identity. The Ministry of Education and Training has a lot of trust and expectations and will continue to pay attention and create the best conditions for the development of Education and Times Newspaper in the next stage", the Minister expressed.
