Comrade Phan Dinh Trac meets with voters in Lam Dong.

On the afternoon of December 15th, Comrade Phan Dinh Trac, Member of the Political Bureau, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, and Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission, along with the delegation of National Assembly representatives from Lam Dong province, met with voters in the eastern part of Lam Dong province in both in-person and online formats.

The conference was connected both in person and online with 34 wards, communes, and the Phu Quy special zone.

Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Phan Dinh Trac, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Committee, said that the conference had listened to 24 specific issues, revolving around 5 areas such as culture and arts; violations of law in the online environment; enforcement of judgments and rewarding whistleblowers; rural areas, agriculture , and land; and flood control. Through this, the local authorities noted issues that need to be resolved promptly and decisively; only in very special cases will the province seek guidance from the Central Government.

Many voters questioned the flood release procedures that have caused flooding in many localities recently. Comrade Phan Dinh Trac explained that flood releases involve irrigation and hydroelectric reservoirs. Irrigation reservoirs are managed and operated by the state for public purposes. Besides generating electricity to recover investment costs, hydroelectric reservoirs ensure flood control and drought mitigation for downstream areas. While the reservoirs develop very thorough flood release plans, their implementation in practice has been ineffective. This raises a national issue requiring careful consideration of flood release procedures to avoid the flooding that has occurred recently.

Responding to voters' questions regarding online insults, Comrade Phan Dinh Trac emphasized that if an individual insults the Party or the State, relevant units will monitor and handle the matter.

Many voters mentioned and emphasized the importance of rewarding whistleblowers who expose corruption. Whistleblowers aim to bring corrupt individuals to light and contribute to the recovery of lost assets. However, in reality, many people have had their rights affected after reporting wrongdoing. Therefore, authorities need to implement effective legal measures to protect the rights of whistleblowers.
