Basically completed 11/13 main items

On the morning of May 22, at the Thuy Van project in Vung Tau City, the construction atmosphere was urgent. Machinery and equipment were operating continuously, workers were simultaneously constructing many items. The project is expected to be inaugurated before August 19, celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2.

To date, the project has basically completed 11/13 main items: sidewalks, walkways, lighting systems, green areas and lawns. In particular, more than 1,800 trees and nearly 11,000m² of lawns and flowers have been newly planted, creating a cool green space in harmony with nature.

The system of walking paths along the sand, walking bridges, decorative arches, public service stations and fresh water supply pillars are being constructed synchronously. The service stations are designed in a modern way, meeting the needs of hygiene, changing clothes and resting for tourists. The synchronous investment in technical infrastructure and landscape not only contributes to improving the appearance of the coastal line, but also creates a green, clean and convenient space for the community and visitors.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Nam, Deputy Commander of Thuy Van project (Coteccons Construction Joint Stock Company) said that the unit is focusing on completing public service stations to ensure progress. This is a category that is especially focused on design and utilities, aiming to improve the quality of service for tourists swimming and relaxing at Bai Sau. Currently, the structural parts of the service station have been completed over 80%.

On the occasion of the recent April 30 - May 1 holiday, some items of the project were put into trial use and received many positive responses. Despite the large number of visitors and high frequency of use, the system operated stably, with only a few minor incidents. This was also an opportunity for the investor and design and construction units to adjust and rearrange.

“The construction progress of the remaining items is being accelerated, especially the square area and auxiliary works, with the goal of inauguration on August 19, celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2. Existing problems will be promptly resolved to ensure timely handover,” Mr. Nam informed.

Focus on construction of sea square

One of the most impressive and large-scale items of the project is the sea square at the intersection of Thuy Van - Le Hong Phong, with an open design, harmonizing urban space and the sea. The square is planned to become a center for organizing festival events, artistic light shows and outdoor community activities. This promises to be a new and attractive check-in point of Vung Tau City.

Regarding this item, package 12 (construction package of the park and sea square, which is also the largest package of the entire project), is currently being focused on by the contractor. The package includes many key technical items such as: central square space, artistic lighting system, underground technical service tunnels, technical stations and high-tech sea dyke sections.

Transferring more than 2 hectares of national defense land to serve the project
On May 23, the People's Committee of Vung Tau City announced a local adjustment to the 1/2,000 zoning plan of the Back Beach area. According to Decision 1200/QD-UBND dated May 5, 2025 of the Provincial People's Committee, the total adjusted area is more than 246,103m², including 19 locations.
Of which, more than 2 hectares of national defense land (165A and 165 Thuy Van Street) are adjusted to serve component works of the Thuy Van Sea Square project.

Currently, the basic frame of 6 service tunnels has been completed; the technical stations are being accelerated. The seawall project in the square area is also being constructed with strict technical requirements to ensure safety in rough sea conditions.

At the scene, construction units are working urgently, with many construction teams deployed simultaneously. According to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Nam, package 12 is the most complex and technically demanding item in the entire project, especially the sea encroachment embankment system, which must withstand the impact of waves and sea winds.
