Tha La Reservoir Repair Project: Tay Ninh proposes to additionally repair the canal bank and lighting system

Tha La Dam is located on Highway 795, the main East-West axis connecting Tay Ninh province with Binh Phuoc and Binh Duong provinces. This is the route connecting many communes with the center of Tan Chau district.

In 2022, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development approved the Tha La reservoir repair project (according to Decision No. 4590/QD-BNN-XD dated November 25, 2022). The project is invested by the Tay Ninh Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development's Construction Investment Project Management Board, with a total project investment of VND 280 billion.

In December 2023, the project started construction, and to date, the project has completed over 90% of the volume.

In addition to providing domestic water and irrigation water, the project also creates an architectural landscape that contributes to the tourism development of Tan Chau district in particular and Tay Ninh province in general, while also contributing to improving the ecological and environmental conditions of the project area, creating favorable conditions for sustainable economic development.

According to the Management Board of Investment and Construction Projects of the Agriculture and Rural Development sector of Tay Ninh province, the existing lighting system of Tha La dam was dismantled to expand the dam surface.

To suit the current situation, ensure safety when vehicles move through the dam at night, create landscape, aesthetic of the project, synchronize the architecture of the project, the unit proposed the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (formerly the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) to supplement and repair the canal bank to serve the management and operation work, combined with the travel service of households in the area. The reason is that the canal bank is currently degraded, many places are very badly damaged, some places have formed holes 0.5m - 0.7m deep.

Previously, the Provincial People's Committee and Tan Chau District proposed to repair the canal bank of the project. At the same time, supplement the lighting system for the landscape and spillway, and the dam surface, maximizing the effectiveness of the project in general, especially the project's focal point. The addition of items does not exceed the total investment of the project.
