Bringing Vietnamese education technology startups to the international market

Báo Nhân dânBáo Nhân dân04/11/2024

NDO - Within the framework of the "Start locally, think globally" seminar, organized by Van Lang University in coordination with related units in Ho Chi Minh City on November 3, speakers shared many practical experiences on startup methods with thousands of students.

Starting a business is a difficult journey. Many studies show that in the first 5 years, more than 95% of startups worldwide have to close down for many reasons.

To create conditions for students to prepare solidly in the field of startups, Van Lang University organizes the "Startup - Local Start, Global Thinking" Seminar to create opportunities for young people to interact with successful experts and leaders of prestigious companies.

From there, students who want to start a business will gain in-depth knowledge, valuable experience and, more importantly, draw practical and meaningful lessons for the journey ahead.

Many young people came to attend the discussion.

Sharing with thousands of students at the Seminar, CEO of DOL English Thinking English System Le Dinh Luc recalled: "I was originally a math major student, but changed direction to be determined to conquer my own "problem" of poor English. Up to now, from a "mountain town" boy, I have in my hands a startup model, the Linearthinking English thinking method, certified by the Intellectual Property Office, and the super technology system SuperLMS".

Before the Covid-19 outbreak, Le Dinh Luc made a decision that made everyone "shake their heads": he refused a PhD scholarship in Australia in 2017 to persevere in developing his "brainchild", an English tutoring class with the unique Linearthinking method he created himself. Currently, his center has 18 facilities across the country and is looking for opportunities to expand the model to the international market.

According to Mr. Le Dinh Luc, to be ready to try their hand at the global market, Vietnamese startups, especially in the field of educational technology (edtech), need to prepare essential competitive advantages.

The top priority is product advantage. Edtech startups need to invest deeply in content, develop unique and effective teaching methods, and have a team of teachers with enough expertise to convey these methods optimally.

Mr. Le Dinh Luc shared his opinion at the seminar.

The second factor that startups need in today’s era is technology. When products enter the international market, technology products need to be different and creative compared to competitors in the same industry.

The challenges in marketing, communication, sales, legal, operations... in foreign markets are enormous. However, if they can take advantage of product quality, teaching methods, teaching staff..., Vietnamese edtech startups can completely compete fairly and effectively.
