Duc Trong: Gladiolus flower village plants more than 100 hectares to serve Lunar New Year 2024

The flower area planted by people is spread evenly across the commune with main varieties such as French red, regular red, orange-yellow, yellow... In which, some villages have large areas such as K'Long A, K'Long B and K'Long C villages.

According to records, the weather this year is quite favorable, so the area of flowers planted has increased compared to the same period of the 2022 Tet flower crop but is lower than that of Tet 2023. In addition to Hiep An commune - where gladiolus flowers are grown most concentratedly, in the neighboring communes of Hiep An and Da Lat city, Don Duong district;.. people are expected to plant flowers to sell on the occasion of Lunar New Year on over 50 hectares.

On the occasion of Lunar New Year 2023, people in Hiep An commune planted gladiolus branches on 160 hectares with an estimated output of 300 - 320 million branches. The price of gladiolus flowers for Tet 2023 ranges from 32,000 - 50,000 VND/bunch of 10 branches.

The Tet flower harvest usually starts in mid-December every year and peaks after December 23 with the main consumption markets being: Hanoi , the Central provinces, Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai...
