* Rural bridge inaugurated and support provided for charity housing in Phuoc Long district.
To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), on the morning of April 26, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union, in coordination with the Secretariat of the Vietnam Student Association of the province, organized a pilgrimage to the historical site of the first Party cell of Bac Lieu province (Rach Ran hamlet, Long Dien commune, Dong Hai district) to express gratitude for the great contributions of previous generations and to educate the younger generation about revolutionary traditions. The pilgrimage was attended by nearly 100 youth union members, students, and young people from the province.
Here, the delegation respectfully laid flowers and incense and observed a minute of silence to commemorate the heroes and martyrs before the monument's inscription.

During the journey to express gratitude to the roots, the Provincial Youth Union Secretary, Pham Tuan Tai, emphasized: “As a generation born when the country was completely independent and unified; inheriting the achievements of the revolution and living in peace , the youth of Bac Lieu today are immensely grateful to the previous generations and pledge loyalty to the revolutionary path of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh. Each young person should be determined to protect the ideological foundation of the Party, fight against erroneous arguments; and at the same time, carry within them the enthusiasm and aspiration to contribute, learn, and create to build the country in the new era, worthy of the sacrifices of our forefathers.”
After a speech recalling the glorious traditions of the Party Committee and people of Bac Lieu contributing to the overall success of the Great Victory of April 30, 1975, the delegation visited and explored the exhibition hall displaying documents, artifacts, and images within the historical site to gain a better understanding of the place that marked the earliest birth of the Communist Party of Vietnam in Bac Lieu province and the region at that time...
On this occasion, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union and the Secretariat of the Vietnam Student Association of the province, in coordination with the Provincial Association for the Promotion of Learning, awarded 60 scholarships (1 million VND/scholarship) and gifts to disadvantaged students in Gia Rai town and Dong Hai district.
* Also as a practical way to celebrate the 50th anniversary of national reunification and the 139th anniversary of International Labor Day (May 1, 1886 - May 1, 2025), on the afternoon of April 25, the People's Committee of Phong Thanh Tay A commune (Phuoc Long district) held a ceremony to inaugurate a rural bridge named 7 Quang Bridge.

The bridge, designed and constructed with reinforced concrete, spans the 1,000-meter canal (at the Ba Lam intersection in Hamlet 1B) with a total length of 30 meters, a width of 2 meters, a load capacity of 1 ton, and a clearance of 2.7 meters for navigation. The construction cost of 183 million VND was fully funded by the family of the late Major General Tran Thanh Quang – Hero of the People's Armed Forces, People's Physician, and former Director of Military Hospital 121, Military Region 9. This is a meaningful act of kindness from the family of the late Major General Tran Thanh Quang towards his birthplace and hometown.
The completed bridge, now in use, not only meets the needs of people for convenient transportation of goods, especially making it easier for students to get to school, but also creates momentum to promote the socio-economic development of the locality.
On this occasion, representatives from Bao Quang Professional Cleaning Services Co., Ltd. (Can Tho City) also presented a symbolic check to support the construction of a charitable house for a poor household in the commune, worth 50 million VND.
