The Hanoi Singing Contest, now nearly 30 years old, continues to seek out talented singers like Tan Minh, Dang Duong, Viet Hoan, Hong Nhung, Tung Duong, My Linh, and others.

The Hanoi Singing Contest, organized by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports , was launched in 1997 and has been running for nearly 30 years.

The Hanoi Singing Contest 2024 consists of three rounds: preliminary, semi-final, and final. The final night is scheduled to take place in December 2024 at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Cultural Palace and will be broadcast live on HTV.

The Hanoi Singing Contest 2024, with the overarching theme "Hanoi - A Heart of Pink," is one of the cultural and artistic events celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital and the 1,014th anniversary of Thang Long - Hanoi.

Mr. Do Dinh Hong, Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, stated: " The 'Beautiful Voice of Hanoi' not only honors the elegant beauty of Hanoi, but also portrays the love and pride in the cultural and artistic traditions that the capital has preserved throughout thousands of years of history."

According to him, the songs and melodies that emerged from the competition were both the heartfelt expressions of the contestants and the echoes of future generations of Hanoi residents, as a tribute to the land that nurtured their spirit and talent.

The contestants not only showcased their talent but also brought with them their love and pride for Hanoi's culture and people, contributing to the diversity and depth of modern music .

The biggest prize is the Hanoi Best Voice award.

Regarding the prize structure, the program will award first, second, and third prizes (corresponding to 50 million VND, 20 million VND, and 10 million VND respectively) in three main music categories: Classical, Folk, and Pop.

In addition, there are supplementary awards: Awards for the contestant who receives the highest score from the judges, Awards include Best Song about Hanoi and Audience Favorite.

Speaking about the prize, Mr. Do Dinh Hong said that the monetary value is not large, but the biggest and most meaningful reward is that the winning contestants will be associated with the Hanoi Good Voice brand from now on.

Many famous Vietnamese singers have emerged from here, such as People's Artist Tan Minh, Meritorious Artist Dang Duong, Meritorious Artist Viet Hoan, singers Hong Nhung, My Linh, Tung Duong…

This is a prestigious competition with a proven track record of excellence.

The judging panel of the Hanoi Singing Contest includes musician Duc Trinh, People's Artist Ha Thuy, People's Artist Quoc Hung, People's Artist Tan Minh, Meritorious Artist Lan Anh, Meritorious Artist Tan Nhan, music researcher Nguyen Quang Long, musician Kien Nguyen and singer Nguyen Tran Trung Quan.

People's Artist Quoc Hung - deputy director in charge of the Vietnam National Academy of Music, and a member of the judging panel - said:

"Regarding the judging criteria, of course, both vocal ability and appearance are important. Contestants with good voices and attractive appearances, and more importantly, musicality and the ability to interpret musical pieces, will certainly win prizes."

He also added that, among the applications, the majority of candidates came from vocational schools.

"It's safe to say that this year's competition is highly competitive, which makes things very difficult for the judges. The judging panel is also very large and consists of the most professional individuals," he shared.
