Recorded at the "Lost in the Hawthorn Forest" Writing Camp

In March, Nam Nghep village, Ngoc Chien commune, Muong La district, is covered in the pure white color of hawthorn flowers, creating a poetic natural scene. This is also an endless source of inspiration for artists across the country.

Not missing the time when hawthorn flowers are at their most beautiful, from March 4 to 6, in Nam Nghep village, Muong La District People's Committee coordinated with Libra Vietnam Joint Stock Company to organize a painting creation camp with the theme "Lost in the Hawthorn Forest" to open a series of activities at the Hawthorn Flower Festival 2024. The creation camp attracted 30 artists from all regions of the country.

Mr. Nguyen Cao Cuong, Director of Libra Vietnam Company, Deputy Head of the Creative Camp, informed: This is the first time the creative camp has been held in Nam Nghep village, Ngoc Chien commune, at an altitude of over 2,200m above sea level. The artists are immersed in the ethereal emotions of the Northwest mountains and forests, blending in with the daily cultural life of the indigenous Mong people, or freely creating under the canopy of white-flowered hawthorn trees in the mountains and forests, creating a lot of inspiration to create the most beautiful paintings.

30 authors are 30 styles, on white paper, the paintbrushes in the hands of the artists begin to dance with all kinds of colors, the spontaneous strokes are sometimes soaring, sometimes strong, sometimes soft. Along with the unique color mixing, the hawthorn forest, the people, and the Nam Nghep village gradually appear from many different perspectives.

Mr. Nguyen Van Sang, Head of the Department of Culture and Information, Muong La district, informed: The creative camp is a gathering of professional artists from many localities. The nature and people of Nam Nghep have created a special mark, inspiring the artists with multi-dimensional perspectives, creating a unique artistic picture for the highland village of Nam Nghep.

Just hanging up the plane to complete the work "Morning mist in the white flower land", artist Truong Trong Quyen, shared: This is the first time I have come to Nam Nghep, participating in this creative camp, I feel the scenery of the Northwest mountains and forests is so beautiful and overwhelmed by the white hawthorn forest covering the sky and earth. In this painting, I used acrylic on canvas, not following any school because I want to gather all schools to create my own hawthorn forest. With a realistic and romantic style of painting, expressing a magical new day in the early morning mist, the color scheme is economical in terms of tone but enough to feel the beauty of the hawthorn forest blooming white petals, brightening up the entire mountain and forest here.

The creative camp is an opportunity for artists from different regions to experience and explore the land, landscape and cultural identity of the ethnic groups in Ngoc Chien commune, and at the same time, it is an opportunity for artists to exchange and learn experiences in artistic creation. In 3 days, the artists created 57 paintings, the Organizing Committee will select 25 works to display at the "Sunflower Promotion Space" in Nam Nghep village during the Festival.

Through the works, the artists will promote and introduce the natural beauty, cultural identity of the Mong people in Nam Nghep village, the beauty of Ngoc Chien and the Northwest region to tourists in the province, domestically and internationally, contributing to attracting tourists to experience, enjoy, find investment opportunities, exchange, cooperate and develop.
