According to the latest report from Simexco DakLak, the global pepper market is expected to grow from US$7.51 billion in 2024 to US$9.8 billion in 2032. The compound annual growth rate (CAGR) is estimated at 3.38%. The main driver behind this growth is the growing demand for natural spices, owing to their anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, and the trend towards organic and sustainable products.

India, Vietnam and Indonesia, remain key players in pepper production and export. Meanwhile, Europe and North America continue to be major consuming markets.

Pepper exports in the second quarter of 2025 are forecast to face difficulties due to high selling prices, causing financial pressure on both sellers and buyers. In addition, US tax policies are likely to change, significantly limiting long-term orders.

The Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA) said that although pepper prices this year are higher than last year, pepper replanting activities in many provinces have slowed down. The reason is that people lack new land for cultivation or switch to growing crops with higher economic value. Therefore, the pepper acreage in 2025 is not expected to increase.

Experts say that in the long term, pepper export prices will still be supported by a decreasing supply trend.
