World gold price today
World gold prices reversed to decrease, with spot gold prices falling by 42.1 USD to 3,320.3 USD/ounce. Gold futures last traded at 3,298.4 USD/ounce, down 50.2 USD compared to early yesterday morning.
Gold prices fell nearly 2% on Friday, ending a string of weekly gains, as a rebound in the dollar and signs of easing trade tensions between the U.S. and China, after Beijing exempted some U.S. imports from tariffs, weighed on prices.
“The easing of tariffs is clearly having a negative impact on gold prices... However, so far we have not seen a significant sell-off,” said Daniel Ghali, commodity strategist at TD Securities.
“But, since we know that investors have been buying on corrections in the last few sessions, there may still be room for gold prices to recover,” Ghali added.
China is considering tariff exemptions for some imports from the United States, which are subject to tariffs as high as 125 percent, and has asked businesses to identify eligible items, businesses said.
Earlier this week, US President Donald Trump also signaled his desire to ease trade tensions.

Meanwhile, the US dollar rose and recorded its first weekly gain since March, making gold - priced in dollars - more expensive for international buyers.
Considered a safe haven amid geopolitical and economic uncertainty, gold prices have hit a record high of $3,500.05 an ounce and have risen more than 25% this year, largely due to US-China trade tensions and net buying by central banks.
“Trade war concerns have been a major driver of gold buying in the past, and while there are signs of a slowdown, it will take some time before we see any real progress, so these concerns are not completely gone,” said Fawad Razaqzada, market analyst at City Index and FOREX.com.
With the domestic gold bar price decreasing and the world gold price listed at Kitco at 3,320.3 USD/ounce (equivalent to about 104.9 million VND/tael converted according to Vietcombank exchange rate, excluding taxes and fees), the difference between domestic and world gold prices is about 15.6 million VND/tael.
