World gold price today May 28, 2025 and world gold price fluctuation chart in the past 24 hours
According to Kitco, the world gold price recorded at 4:30 a.m. today, Vietnam time, was at 3,299.58 USD/ounce. Today's gold price decreased by 1.13% compared to yesterday. Converted according to the USD exchange rate on the free market (26,262 VND/USD), the world gold price is about 104.4 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is about 13.6 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.

“Gold is going through a lot of volatility due to the constant changes on the tariff front. Right now, the market may be sensing that a deal is coming and that is putting pressure on gold,” said Bart Melek, head of commodity strategy at TD Securities.
A phone call over the weekend between Mr Trump and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has given fresh impetus to trade talks, the EU said, after Mr Trump backed away from a threat to impose 50% tariffs on EU imports next month.
The dollar index rose, while U.S. stock futures also rose sharply. A stronger dollar and increased risk sentiment weighed on gold, an asset priced in dollars and often favored in times of economic or geopolitical uncertainty.
Minneapolis Federal Reserve Bank President Neel Kashkari called for holding interest rates steady until there is more clarity on the impact of higher tariffs on inflation. Minutes from the Fed’s latest policy meeting are due out on Wednesday.
A slew of key US economic data will also be released this week, including first-quarter GDP estimates, weekly jobless claims and the core PCE price index, the Fed's preferred measure of inflation.
“Our long-term bullish view on gold remains unchanged. As soon as the market believes the Fed will cut rates, gold will start to rally again,” Melek added.
Non-yielding precious metals like gold typically benefit in low interest rate environments.
In other precious metals, spot silver fell 1.2% to $32.96 an ounce, platinum fell 0.2% to $1,082.63 and palladium also lost 0.3% to $984.50.
