World gold price today 05/05/2025 and world gold price fluctuation chart in the past 24 hours
According to Kitco, the world gold price recorded at 4:30 a.m. today, Vietnam time, was 3,239.27 USD/ounce. Today's gold price is unchanged from yesterday. Converted according to the USD exchange rate on the free market (26,430 VND/USD), the world gold price is about 103.2 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is 18.1 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.
World gold price developments in the past 24 hours.
Currently, domestic gold investors are cautiously monitoring the market, waiting for price adjustments after the 5-day holiday. Notably, domestic gold prices are currently about VND18 million/tael higher than world gold prices, creating a significant gap and causing many people to expect price fluctuations when the market resumes operations.
Meanwhile, at the end of the week, world gold prices fell slightly on Friday (May 2), marking the second consecutive week of losses, as US-China trade tensions eased and a positive US jobs report put pressure on the precious metal market.
Spot gold fell 0.4% to $3,228.50 an ounce at 17:41 GMT, Reuters reported. For the week, gold prices fell 2.6% after hitting a record high of $3,500.05 on April 22. Notably, gold prices fell to their lowest level since April 14 during Thursday's trading session.
Meanwhile, US gold futures recorded a slight increase of 0.6%, closing at $3,243.30.
Forecasting the trend of gold prices next week, there is a tug of war between the opinions of analysts and investors, according to Kitco.
Specifically, in the Wall Street survey, 18 analysts participated in the response, of which only 28% said that gold prices would increase, 50% said that gold prices would decrease and the remaining 22% predicted that gold prices would remain stable. Experts have said for two consecutive weeks that gold prices will be difficult to increase again in the short term.
On the other hand, the Main Street online survey found that of the 273 investors who responded, 52% said gold prices would rise, 29% said gold prices would fall and 19% said gold prices would remain flat.
